And there were some definite overthrows by Sam this year to Sheed, or we see completely different numbers.
He's a game changer. Period.
And some underthrows as well. I'm thinking of that 51 yarder late in the season. Shaheed had to slow down a half step to haul that in. A little more air under it and he's in the house.

His 11.6 yards per reception tracks with JSN's 11.3 last year, when he was our WR-1/2, and his 687 yards last year track with JSN's rookie 628 output.

No, this isn't solid WR-2 output, but it is promising.

I go back to the JSN + Shaheed effect on the running game, though. Things really opened up for K9 as Shaheed became more fully integrated into the offense.

Is it a sure bet? No. Is it a reasonable one? I think so.
A good offseason should help him be more productive.

Per ESPN Doubs deal actually goes up to 80M over 4 years. I'd much rather have Rashid.

The New England Patriots have agreed to sign former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs to a four-year deal worth up to $80 million, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter and Jeremy Fowler.

They don't get to work on that in-season for a new guy on the team. Looking forward to next season when they have developed their timing.
Yep.

They will more than likely do the same thing Sam did the previous time before Training Camp started and that's go to that place in California and develop the timing and chemistry there.

In fairness, Doubs may well be another Shaheed in that he could benefit from a different situation after his signing. There were a lot of targets to share receptions in Green Bay.

Reports, again take that for what it’s worth, are saying SF offered 57 million to him. If that’s true that’s so solid to our culture.

If so, then Shaheed basically gave the Whiners this as his response ===> 🖕

And then re-signed with us.

(that report probably isn't true but it would be fun if it was)

34.7m over 3 years is not a legitimate number - if we keep him for 1 year, we have to pay him $26m, if we keep him for 2 years we have to pay him $38m and if we keep him 3 years we have to pay him the full $51m, or we pay him $38m plus whatever we restructure for in year 3.
I see maximum total cash payments of $23M in 2026, $12.5M in 2027, and $15.5M in 2028 on both Spotrac and Overthecap. Only the $23M in 2026 is fully guaranteed. The 2027 cash doesn't guarantee until 2027.

You're right - I'm not sure if the numbers have flipped since I wrote this or if I double counted the $3m base.

In any case it's at minimum a $23m one year prove it deal, or we pay $35.5m for 2 years. There isn't a world where we get him 3 years for 34.7m.
