Seattle plays Carolina a lot because they finish in the same spot as us in their division a lot. The schedule is set as 6 divisional games, 4 vs. a rotating NFC division, 4 vs. a rotating AFC division, an 2 vs. opponents who finished in the same spot in their division in conference that are not in the division we are already scheduled to play. We played Carolina this year because we both finished in 2nd in 2017. We play them next year because we play the entire NFC South. Our 2 opponents determined by our finish this year are Minnesota and Philadelphia. For the most part, the NFL schedule does have some logical consistency.
However, going to Pittsburgh for our 3rd matchup out of 4 reeks of shenanigans.
