To be fair, it's CONCACAF, there really is no group of death.............and as seahawks1983 pointed out, ask any Sounder what the worst part of this tournament is and they'd tell you the soul sucking travel to 3rd world country facilities in 100 degree heat with 500 people in the stands playing on the worst surfaces this side of a dog track.
Most Mexicans i've spoke to don't even care about it, neither do the teams in Mexico. All about their league and the Copa Libertadores. I wisht they'd invite MLS teams to it. Would test us against the best and would give it more exposure up here to compete with UEFA. Even if MLS teams had to play a qualifier to get into it, to stop bad MLS/CONCACAF teams (Canadian) getting in would be fine.
I think being in it would slowly raise the standard of MLS. If MLS teams got embarrassed in it, there would be more pressure to innovate/raise the cap and invest in quality. IF MLS teams did do well they'd be up against the cream of Argentina, Brazil etc while doing well.
