The loss of Alonso is killing us. LA is bossing the midfield.

LA has tired...as is usual, Gerrard has lost interest and Keane is lacking service.

Game right there for Seattle

As frustrating as Schmid can be to me at times, I have to give him credit for the halftime adjustments that he made.

Finally beat LA in the playoffs!!! Bossed the second half. Hope Evans is okay. He did great at LB. Hopefully no other injuries other than Leo. We get either Dallas or Vancouver on Sunday depending on tomorrows results.

I don't even care if we win the MLS Cup, beating LA in the playoffs is icing on the cake of the season for me.

Eerily similar to the last game these two teams played for sure.

You've gotta think big changes are coming in LA. They can't afford to keep all 4 DP's and quite frankly Omar has looked down right awful at times this year. Keane and Gerrard are gonna be 36, and how many people trust Dos Santos to lead a team with such huge expectations?

Not knowing a ton about the team, just some snippets, i'd say Keane is just fine. A bit too much class for the league, to be honest (same as Drogba), even at 36.

Gerrard, however, is another thing altogether. In every match i've seen he loses impact near the 1/2 time whistle and rarely makes any impact after. I don't know if he's angling a loan move back to Liverpool, but whatever it was, he seemed either a. distracted or 2. out of form/fitness.

Either way, a nice win and deserved win for the Sounders. They were outplayed for the first 45, made some tweaks, stayed patient and took advantage when the time came (what the hell header was that?)

That was one of the few times I will say that Sigi out coached Bruce Arena. Even without Ozzie, Sigi made changes to keep the team moving forward. Rose held well and was a primary factor in disrupting the service towards Keane. Gerrard and Santos combined for a total of 3 completed passes to Robbie Keane last night....all 3 of them around the center circle. Traditionally the Galaxy like to play the ball strait to Keane from the midfield up the center so Keane has the ball on the corners of the 18...That was non existent last night.

We set up a came plan to shut down Robbie Keane and for the most part, it worked. Then again, the Galaxy have really been struggling since Dos Santos arrived, some of that offensively, but most of it on the back end.

I will say that I absolutely love the sacrifice for each other the boys showed tonight. It started with when Leo went down. Evans told Sigi he could play LB if Sigi favored Scott over Fisher (who is recovering form injury). Dempsey volunteered to move to Right Mid to allow Valdez to play Striker as his fitness was coming into question. We easily got another 15 minutes of Valdez on the pitch because of it. The team really fought for one another.

I hope we are able to cope with the injuries we picked up. I think Evans is the biggest one by far. I still can't believe that man. Hamstring goes lame on him and he stills makes the tackle in the box. He may not always be the best player on the pitch but I respect the hell out of him for how he plays the game. He is the perfect player I want as my captain. A player that can and will do anything to help the team. I hope he is our captain for a while.

Yes I hope this quiets some of the Sigi haters, because his halftime adjustments moving Clint out to mid allowing Valdez to stay up top and not have to wear himself out was the difference IMO in the match.

Great to see us vanquish LA and exorcise that playoff demon, now all we have to worry about is health.............which doesn't look too good right now. Evans, Leo, Valdez, Ozzie and Pappa are all dinged up.

If we can't get somewhat healthy one of these younger faster clubs is going to run circles around us in the next round.

I still think its time for the Sounders to move on from Sigi..

Look, they won the game. but all three goals were absolute gifts by LA. And while the Sounders certainly won the 2nd half of that match, its been pretty typical of LA to fade after the first 45.

It was a good win for the team, considering the injuries. The players put in a tremendous effort. But the Galaxy were so very bad last night in defending. Almost comical.

Not sure, if i was a Sounders fan, I'd want to put too much emphasis on Sigi for exploiting that.

4 goals in the first 25 minutes. That was as poorly played defense as I have seen. Both teams were horrid. Defense has to be better in the next series. They got the playoff LA monkey off their back though.

I'm far from a Sigi apologist, he's a good manager, but not great IMO..............and I'd be all for moving on from him, but I don't like just firing managers for firing sake.

If Lagerwey has a plan to bring in a more dynamic manager and staff, then I'd need to see who that is before saying that's a better plan than sticking with Sigi. Sigi, for all his stubborn faults, is very good at managing veteran players with his processes, training regimen and juggling international duty, etc.

So again, I'd need to see our options or Lagerwey's plan before signing off on firing Sigi.

Agreed.

It's a stupid rule. The MLS is doing it because it wants to copy European leagues instead of developing its own identity.

The MLS is doing it to keep teams from bunkering on the road (See: MLS Playoffs before 2014).

The playoffs have been much more entertaining since.

Strange argument. it's not a stupid rule in Europe. So it would be stupid not to use it.

Just like all those European players that are in the MLS are good, so it would be stupid for the MLS not to use them.
