The difference between the Mariners payroll and the Astros payroll would pay for Aaron Judge, Bryce Harper, and Juan Soto or Mookie Betts (take your pick), and they'd still be behind the Astros by about $10 mil. They could literally add 3 superstars and still have a lower payroll than the Astros. Let that sink in.

It's not exactly a level playing field.

Yelling at people doesn't ensure success.
I agree. Leadership, accountability, passion, drive, etc. Servais is just...there. Manny Acta is just ....there. Everyone is their own leader which rarely wins championships. Pete's locker room was loose but he was the leader, that was Pete's team. I won't shush until divisions are won.

There's zero reason to bat Cal 4th still. He's having an awful month and a half. Awful. But for whatever reason they refuse to move his arse. They treat their pitchers like babies but rarely give Julio a day off even if he's slumping. They keep playing Canzone. They bat Moore 2nd he's not a 2 guy. I wonder how much Teoscar Hernandez wanted this team misses his bat so much. Im not worried about the pitching one bit those guys are doing just fine give me a top 10 pitching staff every year no matter what im taking that.

Only the white sox have less hits than the Mariners. At the same time the white sox have 10 more doubles. Lol. Which leads to my next point Ms are dead last in doubles. Overall OPS they are 24th. They're doing better in Walks. The division isnt going to be this bad every year this is a golden opportunity do not feck this up.

Locklear and Rojas coming through in the 7th. I like Tyler's stance it's a little wonky looking but he keeps his feet down and really lets his hip drive. Beautiful first hit.

Great management once again by Servais. Bring in Munoz as the set up to have Baumann blow it in the 9th.

I'm confident our coaching staff will get in Locklear's head, ruining what could potentially be a promising power hitter. Bummer

I will say I actually liked the move to bring Munoz in the 8th.. they had their heavy hitters. Could Munoz really not pitch the 9th too tho? He barely threw pitches in the 8th

It was smart on paper, but predictably backfired. Hate seeing the team get swept.

This season is over

He's the only reliable reliever we have right now, so, I guess we proceed with caution. Just having him pitch at all took planning.

So the Big Dumper does a 2 RBI single in the 10th to make it 6-3. Gosh, can we hang on and actually come out on top, or are the mighty Royals gonna score 4+ in the bottom to win?

He aggravated a lower back injury he's been dealing with all season the other day. So they're being conservative with him because of that and because at this point he's far and away their best and most important reliever. Losing Munoz for any significant amount of time would be a huge blow to this team.

Jesus. Outside of Munoz, this bullpen just sucks at this point.

Glad we didn't get swept, but shoot, had it been any other team, we'd have taken the series easily. But no, it's the Royals, against whom an early 8-0 lead (as was the case in the series' first game) is but a minor and easily addressed inconvenience.

That was quite the vaudevillian sideshow that our bullpen put on there to just barely avoid losing the game.

I was ok with it too. Have Munoz try and take care of Bobby.

They moved Cal out of the 4th spot like I hoped they would and he ends up getting the game winning hit. Garver at the 4 spot is much better he works a walk to give Cal a chance. Nice. In the 5th inning they play some small ball and bunt a guy over to 2nd. They didn't score but they got a runner past 1st base which they desperately need more of.

I wouldn't keep Dmo at 2 spot unless he gets hot immediately. He has way better stats in other spots in the line up. Bliss is having a great June. Locklear already got the first hit and RBI out of the way. Ty was heating up sucks he got hurt but we get to see what Locklear can do. Raley, Locklear, Bliss should be playing every day. Need that sample size.
