A loss that has the potential to be really haunting… I hope and pray our season isn’t cooked after that atrocity

Nope. Witt gets my vote for MVP so far
my 1-4 ranking
Judge
Soto
Henderson
Witt

Judge gets it mostly on his OPS for the last 45 days

More than stats go into MVP voting teams success, area that the player plays in and how much the player is liked by the media as much as people don’t like to admit the award is a popularity contest. If there is no real competition a guy from a bad team or small market such as when Andre Dawson won it with the Cubs in 1987

IMO it will be Judge or Soto

Well, one game in the depth of the season doesn't mean a lot over the course of the season.

Two key things it points out, of course.

1. Pitching. Strong as our starting pitching is, our bullpen is in the worst shape it's been in in years.

2. Scoring. I hope our guys learn that you need to keep adding on runs in a game like that. Just scoring a bunch early and sitting back doesn't cut it. Gotta keep adding runs.

Mariners have blown a 7+ run lead 5 times under Servais. Most under one manager since 1995.

Well, the Rangers lost too, so there's that.

Lack of killer instinct? I hate to blame the pitching for many issues this year but what does it say about them when their worst showing is when the other team needed it? There’s a phycology behind letting a team come back when you have a big lead. I’ve seen it in competitive things among my friends.

Theres a killer mentality you need to have that is comfortable having a lead and comfortable stepping on opponents necks. We clearly don’t have that.

Why is Canzone playing and why is Cal batting ahead of Raley. Garver is hot right now.

Not looking good. Guess we shouldn't have Staneked the last game. Is it concerning that our starters are getting lit up a bit?

M's starters philosophy is don't walk guys. Good one to have. Can't give away free bases. But today Castillo walked 2 guys and both came in to score I believe. The pitching is fine overall. The goal is to get an offense like KC's while we have this good pitching. You can't rely on your pitchers to shut down every team all the time. Just can't do it, too much talent this is the big leagues. I'm not worried about the starters honestly.

Are we okay to criticize Servais, or is someone going to come along and call me a knuckle dragging, mouth breathing casual?

Yankees payroll, $306,000,000.

Phillies payroll, $246,000,000.

Mariners payroll, $142,000,000.

Philosophy of teams like the Yankees, Phillies, Dodgers, etc., "We don't care how much it costs. We want to win a World Series."

Mariners philosophy, "Maximizing profits is all that matters. Shed player salary. We don't really care how good the players are as long as they're cheap."

My answer to the "hey, we're cheapskates" excuse is still "Robinson Cano."

They know they need a "star" or two to keep fans interested and make sure they keep showing up to games.

Look at what they've surrounded Julio with on offense. It's a joke compared to teams like the Yankees, Phillies, Dodgers, etc.

Felix used to be the cash cow. Now it's Julio. As long as they have a cash cow, they're perfectly content with not being legitimate contenders.
