I almost fell for that trick when I was 13 or 14. I was driving my dad's '79 Olds Ninety Eight (loved that damn car!) and a guy had some 15" subs in sealed boxes for the "One Time Only Super Low Price" of just $50/pair! Good thing I was a broke teenager that had no business driving in the 1st place, or I would have bought some $50 cinder blocks.

I bought some at the flea market at the old Drive-In across from highland community college when I was going there in the early nineties. Some really nice subs (forget the brand), rockford fosgate amps and MB Quarts 6x9s. It all looked (and sounded based on music quality... at the time nothing else sounded quite like MB Quartz) genuine, new in original packaging but open.
