The Seahawks have claimed B.J. Daniels off Waivers. For those of you that don't know, he is a QB from San Francisco that was thought very highly of by some of the fans.

His production was very limited, but what do you guys think of the pick-up? Is it a genuine interest in the player or are they simply trying to get some inside info on the 49ers?

So that is different from the BJ Daniels - the QB that is discussed in the other thread :D

QB. Not WR.

What are they going to learn? How to beat the Niners worse? They liked BJ in the Draft because he resembles RW in play style.

Sign him for a day-> cut-> PS?

Even if we sign him for five minutes, we have to let somebody go first. Lotulelei? Edit: yup.

Unless we cut a very good player inexplicably (Alvin Bailey), this news makes me very happy. BJ Daniels is half Kaepernick, half Wilson. He fits us very well, and he's got talent. Our offense knows a little about accommodating a 5'11" QB.

As much as I'd like Tjack to sign a 5 year, $5 million contract tomorrow and be our cheap backup for the forseeable future, I think he's played his way into a better opportunity elsewhere next season. Even if he remains a backup, I just can't see him remaining within Seattle's price range. Having BJ Daniels- even if he's just on our practice squad- it gives us insurance for 2014.
