Brian Schottenheimer receives 2nd interview for the Cowboys HC job. Quite sure that it is Schotty's dream to OC the Seahawks again, but HC for the Cowboys is a bittersweet consolation prize.

The thing is this, Brain Schottenheimer is 51 years old, and that alone disqualified him from our OC considerations. My vote goes to Udinski, at 28yo, he is one of the few candidates invited for a 2nd interview. Schotty? eat your hearts out, wasn't invited at all.

I don't understand this at all. Didn't they fire their offensive-minded coach because he wasn't getting the job done? And their solution is to go with the understudy?

They didn't fire McCarthy, he decided he didn't want to reup his contract and left. Jerry Jones was caught flat footed and there was a rumor that he wanted McCarthy to mentor Witten. Schottenheimer is most definitely a panic hire. What makes this good for Jerry is Schottenheimer has always been the toe the line type. He's not going to get a lot of push back from Schottenheimer.

But can he create a culture? Is he a leader of men?
I could see Schottenheimer being a good HC. He's gotten the respect of a lot of players over the years, people seem to like playing for him for what it is worth. I could also see him being an absolute wreck though.
