Dickson is a beast. There were some positive takeaways...definitely concerned with the run D.

Denver's edge rush is formidable. I didn't think they would have that effect on RW though. 6 sacks...looked hesitant.

Hope Baldwin is ok!

Ifedi has been, is, and likely will always be a weakness on this line. I was hoping to see some aggression but, he was trying to hold Von Miller as well.

This is gonna be a rough year on both sides of the ball. Broncos offense is bottom of the league and got 500 yards. Mcdougald kept the defense in it.

More disappointed in the offense, Russell was wildly inconsistent. His lazy, inattentive final drive sealed the deal. We knew defense would have some struggles losing all that talent, offense supposed to help carry the team.

Also, why the hell did penny get so many touches. Carson’s fumble sucked but he was making plays each time he got it.

Dickson is the mvp today.

The Broncos are 14-2 in homegames in September since 2011, and have not lost one of those since 2012. As someone posted in another thread it is very difficult to win in Denver when the tempuratue is above 70.

Cmon. They can hang with most teams. They’ll win some of those close games too. Injuries to KJ and Baldwin were killers in this game.

Yes, Russ was not amazing today, let me get that out of the way.

The standards fans are asking for are impossible. How is a QB supposed to consistently perform at an elite level, when the pocket is constantly being shoved into his lap, to where he couldn't step into throws. Ifedi was overmatched by Von Miller the whole game. Sweezy was eaten alive, after Von hit Russ a 2nd time he was a bit rattled. Russ still found a way to comeback and make 2 nice TD throws to retake the lead twice.

Given the circumstances Russ had a 3 TD, 1 INT, 300 yds, 100+ passer rating before the garbage time heave at the end.

If you told me that would be the case, I would say he had a pretty damn good day, and the Seahawks won.


He was terrible against the blitz today, I will have to see the all-22. Normally Russ shreds the blitz. Of note he was missing Baldwin who is Wilson's security blanket on 3rd down.


Russ is the one propping up the Pete Carroll Circus. Take Russ away, and it is back to guys like Charlie Whitehurst & Tarvaris Jackson. 7-9 Type of seasons, probably worse at this point of Carroll's career.

The Pete Carroll era ended 4 years ago, The Seahawks have been a walking zombie corpse since then. Just put the shotty to the dome and end it. Time to start fresh and new.

Things aren't going to change under Carroll. That was a Pete Carroll coached team to a "T". The SAME OLD SEAHAWKS TITLE is apt. Whether it was with the Jets, Patriots, & now the Seahawks. Same crap different year.

But lets pile all of Pete Carroll's mistakes of the last 4 years on to the Franchise QB, because he didn't perform the necessary miracle to get the win today. You know your team sucks when you feel like your QB has to play near perfect to win the game. Don't worry Russ will pull the rabbit out of the hat a few times this year to keep them hovering around .500, but Carroll led teams will never do anything of significance going forward in the NFL. He would be pretty damn good in college though.

The Seahawks got destroyed today across the board. Case Keenum kept the Seahawks in the game and it masked how bad the ass whooping actually was.

Penny getting as many carries as Carson is all that needs to be said about the coaching. Always Compete my ass.

Bingo. Said this many times last season. The hits he's taken do not end after the play. They accumulate time and time again. He's carrying a whole lot of fear on his back these days. That's what was told to me during today's game by a guy who knows.

"Russ plays scared. That's cancer in this league. It eats at a player until they're a shell of the player they used to be."

3 TDS, 300 yards is rather poorly??

He didn't play amazing, he didn't play poorly. There is a middle ground guys, he played okay. Not well enough to carry the clown car show though.

I agree the question is worth asking and talking about, but you'll get shouted down here by a lot of posters.

The closer you are to a lineman, the more an inch or two in height is magnified, which is why I think Russ likes a lot of room. The Broncos collapsed the pocked like they said they needed to - in a disciplined way, and kept it closing in. I doubt Russ could have seen much, and the lanes weren't there very often either.

This game went almost VERBATIM to what I had in my mind and thus my prediction.

There's plenty to work on and yes, this is nowhere near the 2013 Championship team, but SOS?

We don’t run a dink and dunk offense. Getting rid of the ball is almost exclusively based on the system

Yes it is a factor. Brees struggles with the same thing. That is why the Saints always make sure they have one of the best interior lines in football every season to mitigate that weakness. The interior line has to hold there ground with a shorter QB. If an interior lineman gets pushed into Russell's lap, he loses his vision, and he will tuck the ball and look to bail.

Russell usually finds a way to escape, and make a few plays in spite of the pressure, it didn't happen today.

He still put up 300 yds & 3 TDs against a ferocious pass rush with his #1 receiver out, which is nothing to sneeze at. It would've required a herculean effort from Russ to win this game. The Seahawks were outplayed across the board. Keenum made it look closer than it appeared.
