I have money on this game, so if it is a revenge game for Sam then I hope he gets his revenge.

That said, it seems pretty obvious that the Vikes weren’t going to be able to give him the solid foundation around him that Hawks do, so he’s probably thankful they didn’t keep him.

We all suffered Geno for years, and it was unwatchable at times. Many times. And they still offered him an extension. Many here (for years) were saying how awesome he was, and those who dared voice the [contrary to groupthink] opinion that he wasn't, like myself, got hammered for it. Look how that turned out. It turns out that those of us who have seen a few things and have skeptical opinions can be proven right after all. Ginger Jesus is better than Geno obviously, even though their turnover numbers are similar, but we'll have to wait and see what happens. He is a lot more fun to watch, and I like his leadership too. There's a lot to like. I get it.

If Sam turns the corner, awesome. But if he doesn't, and he keeps losing in the biggest moments, I don't want to see the Hawks ride a losing horse for three more years like we did with Geno. In the biggest moments, winners refuse to lose. Prime Russ was that guy. It remains to be seen if Sam is that guy or not. Have faith, but not blind faith. Keep one eye open. That's all I'm saying. I've been a Hawks fan since the 80's so don't bother with all the self righteous homerism posts. I'm entitled to my [not uninformed] opinion just like everyone here, and if you don't agree with me, hooray, good for you. I guess I just have a mild case of Geno ptsd. Lol.
"turns the corner"? huh? Dude is a top 10 QB right now and has us at 8 and 3. We will likely finish with one of the best regular season win loss records in team history. I think he is legit. Worry not. Let's enjoy the stretch run because the season will be over before you know it.

considering what Kevin O' Connell did to Carson Wentz when he was playing with one-arm and kept trotting him out there to have him risk his career, I'm kind of glad Darnold is a Seahawk.

I think you're reading too much into one game.
I'm not so sure. I think this game speaks more to the mental aspect of Darnold's game and it is definitely important. Does he have the mindset that is necessary for a QB to succeed in this league. We should absolutely dominate this game with the Vikings blitz scheme and as long as he hits his checkdowns and quick reads then we should win by at least 14. I don't see the Vikings offense doing much unless our old tendency to allow backup QB's to have career games against us arise. If we don't win by at least 2 TD's I will be surprised and questioning whether Darnold is going to be a long-term answer (at least for the next 2 years). This game should show us whether we actually have a shot with Darnold as our guy or if we need to start thinking about Milroe as our future QB. I know he isn't ready right now but it will play a part in determining how we shape our team moving forward,

Break the victim mentality. It doesn’t show well.

Look how that turned out. It turns out that those of us who have seen a few things and have skeptical opinions can be proven right after all.

Neither does gloating.

If Sam turns the corner, awesome.

He’s a top performing QB in almost all categories…what corner does he need to turn?. Ever see Lamar, Mahomes, Allen have a bad game?

Have faith, but not blind faith. Keep one eye open. That's all I'm saying. I've been a Hawks fan since the 80's so don't bother with all the self righteous homerism posts.

Who is being self-righteous?

I'm entitled to my [not uninformed] opinion just like everyone here, and if you don't agree with me, hooray, good for you.

And others are entitled to respond to your posts to share their opinions…kinda the way the site works.

The way the team feels about same, which was evident in how they rallied around him after the Rams game, I think all the guys will be fired up to "win it for Sam". It may not be a revenge game but I think that's a factor overall.
A lot of fluffing of Brosmer on the pregame shows and comments this morning are spooking me a bit but maybe that's being done for the story lines. Our back end vs the Viking WR will be a good matchup. IIRC Tre Brown had a tough day last year in the matchup.

I think he's long since answered that question, man.

If he didn't have the mindset, he would've quit the NFL after 2020.

As far as winning by at least 2 TDs go, the Seahawks were supposed to have won big against the Titans but they won by only one score.

Is Darnold to be questioned by circumstances outside his control (Special Teams giving up a TD; Garbage TD given up by the Defense)?

What if the same thing happens here?

Also, Milroe? Puh-leeze.

I don't think he will amount to anything aside from MAYBE becoming a type of scatback/Running-back (maybe a Wildcat guy) who can throw the occasional pass.

He was a 3rd round pick for a reason.

I'm sure the game feels like a little something extra for Darnold, and it would have been even cooler for him to go against the guy whose drafting made him expendable, I just don't like the phrase "revenge game" for him, because it implies Darnold was wronged by the Vikings. They set him up for success, both in Minnesota and beyond. He should be exclusively grateful, even if it would feel pretty nice to show them up on the field.

Yeah, Brosmer is nothing beyond a fun story. We'd probably all be rooting for him if he were playing anyone else today.

Sam was interviewed by Fox on the morning pregame show. Definitely got the sense he felt a little slighted that Vikings gave him low ball offer

35 TDs 12 INTs. 9 sacks in that playoff game which wasn't all on him.

They gave him a lowball offer below market value.

I think Sam was looking more for Term and got another 1-year-deal offer instead for far less money.

That's when he knew the Vikings organization was unserious about winning.

I heard the offer was comparable to what we're paying him, but was for only one year.

They kind of backed themselves into a corner. Darnold playing so lousy the last two games made it difficult to completely pass on their early first-round QB investment. I don't recall it even being all that controversial at the time. Sure has blown up in the Vikings faces though.

Just realized that I don't even know who their backup QB is.
Like always, the unknown will light us up for 350+ 😂🤣.

Maybe not…running joke.

*Edit - it just seems that every now and then, some dude that’s NEVER caught an NFL pass will get 10 on us…backup RB might go off for 150…..

Hoping that’s not the case with ol whoeveristhrowingtheball Vikings.

I don’t think Darnold is the answer to this team. He is playing bad since LA. He didn’t have to do much today. But in games where he has to he’s failed. And I don’t think he will figure it out this year. And we might be one and done.

You're joking, right? 😂

When Darnold was signed here, the idea was that he would not f*ck things up while the Hawks lean on their Defense and RUNNING attack.

Nobody thought he would turn into an MVP QB here.

What happened in this game is what many here envisioned this season regarding the team.

We will be just fine.

And besides, if not Darnold, then who? Friggin' Milroe??? (notice I did not mention Drew Lock because putting him in is raising the white flag on the season)
