(Warning : This is pretty lengthy so for those who don't care, TLDR : He had a rough start which ended in storybook fashion. The End)
Words cannot express how ecstatic I am for Sam after his lengthy and challenging journey to get to this point where he is now a Superbowl Champion!! LFG!!!

So I feel like bringing up a timeline of how things got to this point from someone who has followed him his entire career.
I'll begin by....well...starting at the beginning :
2018-2021
- It started in NY where everything was terrible and he was mocked by undeserving Jets fans for getting Mono. These fans exemplified the term "miserable pos".
Add Adam Gase to that equation, and it was virtual hell on earth for him.
And then when he uttered those fateful words ("I see ghosts") on a MNF game against Belichek's Patriots, the league and NFL pundits then treated him like he revealed state secrets or said the quiet part out loud or something forbidden (and that sh*t went on for years).
Then when he was finally traded, Jets fans were so thrilled to be rid of him yet had no clue as to the upcoming horror fast approaching them (ie Zach Wilson) but that was their problem.
2021-2023
- Then Sam landed in Carolina and for the first 4 games, he looked like he would have a quick turnaround to his career early on but then CMC got hurt (and was out for the year; and Sam would never play with him ever again as it turned out) and it was discovered unsurprisingly that Matt Rhule was an idiot who apparently had no Plan B for if CMC went down with a season-ending injury and thus this led to Sam struggling once again but with yet another coach in over his head. This led to Sam being benched the rest of the season and it all looked bleak for him.
However, a funny thing happened in his 2nd and final year there. Sam got hurt in the preseason so he was out for awhile and sat while Baker Mayfield was thrown out there and he did terribly (going 1-6). Then Baker was soon released and by the time Sam came back from the injury, the buffoon (Matt Rhule) was fired and replaced by Steve Wilks and the OC replaced Joe Brady with Ben MacAdoo.
Sam showed for the first time actual competency during the final stretch of that season going 4-2 and almost dragging a sad sack Panthers team into the playoffs if it wasn't for Tom Brady and the Bucs. Sam was quoted in interviews these days as crediting MacAdoo for getting him to focus on his footwork and other deficiencies he wasn't made aware of while in NY.
2023
- The Panthers did not re-sign Sam (which, as it turns out, was a good thing as it would've changed his career trajectory significantly) and he decided to head on over to the Whiners and get some much-needed QB Development by Shannahan and QB-Coach Brian Griese.
He didn't get much action aside from a game against the Ravens where Brock threw 4 picks and had zero success against them until Sam was brought in on Mop-up duty and on his first offensive series marched the team down and threw a TD pass to end the drive showing everyone that he had vastly improved as a QB.
(He also experienced a trip to the SB which, I feel helped him here as to not be overwhelmed in being in uncharted territory)
2024
- Of course, he wasn't going to replace Brock (plus the Vikings offered him 10 mil) so he left and signed with the Vikings who already were planning (and did) to draft their own QBOTF which they did in JJ McCarthy. However, JJ got hurt (which would become a trend the following year) and it gave Sam the opportunity to show the Vikings and the league that he can still be a quality starting QB. And he did more than that, as we all know.
He helped them win 14 games and got MVP consideration every week up until the last game of the season and the postseason game against the Rams where everything came crashing down. And people then assumed that this was it and Sam would somehow revert ALL THE WAY BACK to how he performed as a NYJ as if his brain got mind-wiped like a hard-drive gets wiped (NFL Pundits and some fans are really stupid, btw). So when the Vikings decided to let Sam test free agency instead of re-signing him, it was just another step forward in his journey (and little did anyone know that this move would eventually lead to the Vikings GM getting his ass canned).
2025-Present
- Which led him to the Seahawks where he proved to everyone (especially the Vikings fans who COPED with hoping he would fail to justify them getting rid of him and keeping JJ McInjuryProne; and Patriot fans thinking they were getting the NY Jets Darnold for some stupid reason) that he is not only a very good Starting QB, but he can help a team win in the Playoffs (whether it's him making big plays or in this case, being the ultimate game-manager).
And now? He proved to EVERYONE that he can help a team WIN A F**KING SUPERBOWL!!!!

Congrats to Sam "Marlboro Man" Darnold!
Your long journey is finally finished.
But your Seahawks career has just begun.
GO HAWKS!!!
(oh and @AROS , look! No AI Darnold this time; and no Bad Non-AI from me either)
