2012 Executive of the year, beating out John Schneider.

Grigson won the award because, having inherited the first overall pick, he selected Andrew Luck.

Clearly this a better example of genius than selecting an equally brilliant franchise quarterback in round three.

Well... it's doubtful Grigson will be repeating this year.

The Colts just benched Trent "2.9 YPA" Richardson, who Grigson spent a round one pick on earlier this season.

Let's see how that titanic gaffe comes back to bite the Colts on the arse.

And I speak as someone who loved Richardson in college -- but you don't ever need to deal future first round picks for running backs not named Adrian Peterson.

It was a stupid and unintelligent 'tip of the iceberg' decision by the writers who voted. I couldn't be happier the way the Richardson trade turned out.

Bu bu bu but they were 2-14. Is what it is. Thats how these things go. Same reason Reid will win coach of the year this year.

In fairness to Reid he deserves coach of the year. Yeah KC had some good players, but 9-2 good?

No complaints on that one. He should get it.

Grigson? That was a complete joke.

I'm not disagreeing with Reid. Just saying that's how those awards go. As far as exec this year, not sure who will be in the running but it might not be crazy that KC wins although outside of A. Smith they didn't aquire anyone instrumental.

Grigson award was robbery, it looked bad the moment it was handed down. I wonder if JS gets it this year. It should be a no-brainer, but after last year I have lingering doubts.

I won't cry if Reid gets it, but he's really not much more deserving than Arians was last year. Mr. right place right time. Reid is a proven coach and Arians is acquitting himself in AZ. But Pete deserved it last year, and he still deserves it right now. From trash heap to dynasty run in 3 years. Twenty years from now, he'll have a bust in Canton, and people will wonder how in the hell he never won any coach of the year awards. Bill Belichick has 3 coach of the year awards so far. Only one of them came from a team that was better than either the 2012 or 2013 Seahawks (and not by much).

Next year it will be Mike Smith or Gary Kubiak for the "surprise" Falcons/Texans as Pete cruises to 13+ wins with a 40+ DVOA yet again. And so it goes.

Yep. Whoever takes over the Texans is nailed on for the 2014 award.
