In place of the copious amounts of Xanax this board clearly needs, let's check out Russell's stats. He is undeserving of all of the hate thrown his way.

He's playing great ball. Seems like he has most of his speed and elusiveness back (80%). Given time in the pocket, he's picking teams apart.

He is just fine! Almost threw three pics instead of the two he threw but most of his throws are 50/50 balls by design. Thats the beauty of the chuck and duck offense. Besides dont we get the Colts again later in the year. Im sorry buddy but Russell is no Rodgers. R-E-L-A-X dosent work here.

I agree Wilson is fine but that stat line doesn't jive?

NFL.com has him at 1024 yds 87/141 7td 2int 94.4 rating

You asked to check his stats so I did. 8)

I love Russell but he just isn't playing well. He missed a ton of open throws in the first half that a professional QB has to make.

Uh, no. We don't play AFC teams twice in a season unless we meet in the SB. :34853_doh:

Please note that one of the INT's hit everybody's favorite TE, Jimmy Graham, in the hands and bounced off. ;)

Oh, and not to totally bust your poorly informed bubble, but we don't really use a "chuck and duck" offense. We tend more to use play action and misdirection to slow the pass rush and throw deep. A lot.

I am relaxed. 4 games in and we're 2-2. Right where we need to be. :0190l:

First of all, I don't see a lot of "hate" thrown his way. People are being critical, which they have a right to be.

Secondly: it's not his fault, but the OL is still hot garbage. They're improving in pass protection, so i don't doubt we'll see something like the last half of the year 2015 Seahawks. With our defense, that should be good enough. That said, it won't be 2013, we'll have to get it done differently. We seriously just can't run the ball.

The problem isn't the stats. The problem isn't the overall production. The problem is terrible first half starts in literally every game so far. Wilson is a big part of that. Maybe he has the yips due to his OL. Maybe he's trying to do too much. Whatever the case, if you want a real story of the season, look up Wilson's first half stats and his second half stats.

The terrible first half stats are a big part of why we can't run the ball: teams run the ball more effectively in the 2nd half against tired defenses and we're typically down by too much to stick with the run game.

Wilson Moms like you need some clarity as well. Dont make up stats and open your eyes.
Perhaps you should provide more accurate stats, then. :snack:

The usual narrative. People see Wilson succeeding and assume he must be getting time in the pocket.

He is, half the time. The other half, he's getting rid of the ball quick on predetermined throws before the pass rush can even get there.

Russ was on point last night and, once again, proved he is invaluable to this team. He'll probably want one throw back (which Jimmy could have given a much better effort to come back to and at least break up), but was masterful the rest of the night. He's been dialing it in and the o-line has really progressed the last two games from what I can see.

If we can get a reliable running game going RW is going to light it up like it's late 2015.

1) You are going to give him "credit" for the INT he doesn't throw but not remove the one that hits Graham in the hands and then gets picked off?

2) "most of his throws are 50/50 balls by design"

I really should have stopped reading after that.......

Relaxing works just fine if you look at the stats. Russell has been playing just fine. 1 pick on the year that was his fault, the other was a very well-thrown ball.

Russ ain't a problem.

And... no, we dont get the Colts again. Why would you even think that?

Actually, both of those intercept's were JG targets, the first one looked like he actually got a hand on the ball.
A lot of the slow starts aren't always Russell Wilson's fault, it's a TEAM sport, and the O-Line has it's fair share of the blame, for not even giving him minimal protection.
It looked to me like Cable and his O-Line was forced to shift gears, in the second half, Pete looked to have some angst about being embarrassed in front of the home crowd, he appeared to be chewing on Bevell's butt on the sidelines, and the play-calls went into overdrive.
I for one hope they continue with the power blocking scheme,(second half of 2015 season style) and that we see less of the faltering ZB going forward.
Getting the ball out a little quicker in a decent passing attack should open up the Run Game, and in turn, give Russell Wilson a bit fewer hits and hurries.
