At his town hall, Pete was proud of the fact that Seattle ran more than any other team in the league. That bothered me, I don't want us to have any target numbers about how much we pass or throw. This offense is multiple enough to not be bull headed in philosophy. I don't care if we pass 50 times or run 50 times, as long as we were taking advantage of the mismatches our offense should be able to create with every single personnel group.

Yup. Eventually Pete has to morph this philosophy a bit. I'm hoping he won’t be to Wilson what Reeves was to Elway.

Agreed and agreed.

No worries. I'll bet Angie Menink tells Pete this all the time

The Miami loss was after Chicago

I totally understand and agree with everything in your post except the bits that were tied to this. The Miami loss was the last time the Seahawks lost in the regular season. They finished the season on a 5 game winning streak and 6 if the playoff win is included. Something they hadn't done since 2005.

After that game, the offense rose up to another level. The Chicago game was a big turning point in that things got crazy efficient. The ratio of scoring drive vs. non scoring drive shot up in a big way until the Rams game where they almost seemed to dial things back a little, didnt take any real risks and eventually started moving the ball well later in the game anyways.

It was obvious that once all the tools were made available and Wilson was allowed to play, that they looked line they could score on anyone and did. The entire season, everything Wilson had to do, the few criticisms folks had of him were addressed and quickly.

You are right, with Wilson playing point guard, using the list of weapons at his disposal, he exceeded my expectations. Add someone like Harvin to the mix? Yikes...

Wilson has proven to spread the ball around to levels we haven't really seen before. Outside of Lynch running the ball, the passing game has been crazy-balanced. Very exciting to know.

Damn we are lucky fans lately.

That is what happens when I type before morning coffee. whoops. Oh well, never let facts get in the way of a good rant.

I dont know why Kaepernick is being mentioned way more than Luck from this. Luck #1 are you kidding me? Him and Newton should be #4 and #5. 1-3 can be any mix of RG3, Kaep and Wilson although IMO I honestly think RG3 and Wilson are 1a and 1b. Luck is the most overrated player I have seen in the past couple years. IMO he will be like Eli or Favre. Sure he COULD win a superbowl but he will turn the ball over constantly and make horrible decisions. Alot of fans think he will be the next Manning but IMO he just wont. IDK if you guys saw that article but towards the end of the season they had the stats from common opponents between Wilson and Luck and Wilson blew him away. RG3 was doing very very good until he got injured and nicked up which is the knock against him is can he stay healthy?

As far as Kaep goes. It will be interesting to see how he does without Moss and Crabtree. No matter how little Moss actually caught the ball of produced you know he probably helped that passing game alot with his veteran knowledge of the game and coverages. Also having targeted crabtree more than any other target almost 3 to 1 Kaep is going to have to find his go to guy which will probably be Davis but idk.

Whispers from OTAs is that Anquan Boldin is killing it, being targeted 3x more than any other receiver. Also, Jenkins is markedly bigger. I doubt the Niners will have a 1000+ yd receiver like Crabs last year, but I doubt that there will be much, if any drop-off for the offense. Now, if Crabs got injured in the pre-season, then I would have a different opinion.

In terms of the top 5: Luck, RGIII, Kaep, Newton, and Wilson, at this point, all 5 guys have huge upside and should be very good players. Newton has the most physical skills, Luck has the best in-pocket ability, RGIII and Kaep have the added speed element, and Wilson is the escape artist. I'm sure the specific rankings of these guys will shift, but it really doesn't matter. All that matters is that those 5 teams have a franchise QB for the foreseeable future and will be in contention for championships.

Thats not even true about luck either though. Wilson had a better in the pocket rating than Luck did. He actually had a better Rating in the pocket than when he was outside of it.

Also im not suprised about Boldin. If he can come in and learn the system real quick im sure he will replace Crabtrees role and Davis will be option number 2.
