Football is a team game, the QB gets to much credit, the QB gets too much blame. People focus too much on one position, albeit the most important position. Wilson will do better then Luck because he plays on a better team

Sure, we're doing well. But the concept of the thread is to compare two players and one is progressing and one isn't.

The biggest difference between RW this season and the end of last is three OL a tight End and a very aware full back.

I hope we come out passing like crazy just to show off at Indy. We need a statement passing game this season from DangeRuss, anyways; our offense has been anemic thus far.

While I think we're gonna win and look good doing it, let's not forget that once again we'll be missing arguably our 3 best offensive players in Okung, Unger, and Percy. It'd be great to see an offensive explosion but assuming guys get healthy and there's not other major injuries, we're nowhere near where we'll likely be at in the last third of the season. To go with the arguable #1 D in the league I think, look at what we'll have on offence :

QB - RW and a top notch backup in T-Jack
RB - Beastmode looking solid, with Turbin and our 2nd round pick Christine Michael waiting in the wings
TE - Very sure handed Zach Miller and Luke Willson who is only gonna get better
WR - Percy, Sid Rice, Golden Tate, Doug Baldwin, Jermaine Kearse. That's ridiculous depth
OL - all-pros in Okung & Unger. James Carpenter getting better by the week. McQuistan very versatile. Breno keeping his madness under wraps this season. And Bowie & Bailey getting invaluable game experience right now to provide further depth

That is an embarrasment of riches

One thing that people don't realise is that Luck is actually pretty darn fast and can be good at scrambling, don't be surprised when he gets some good runs in against us. Luck's 40 time was 4.6 seconds, Russell's was 4.55. They're both good quarterbacks.

End of last year Russ was clearly better. Luck has looked a bit better this year so far. Russell is having major issues seeing open receivers downfield and just locking on to the first read. There were a lot of missed open receivers in the Texans game. Russ seems to have regressed a little. Most of this is probably due to the pressure but it's still the reality.
The Offensive line has regressed this regular Season, and some of the NON-VET Receivers aren't running their routes, + Rice has to learn to COME BACK to a pass when his Quarterback is under fire.
This "Regression" is mostly on Wilsons team mates.
Proof?, seeing Russell Wilson taking hold of the Offense in the 4th quarter (like Marshawn Lynch asked him to do), is all the proof you need, and THAT's the "Reality"
We don't win that game without RW taking the load on his shoulders, and running for the first down markers.

Sorry to disagree given Houston doesn't both the team and fans. One issue Wilson doesn't have iscking onto one receiver like it or not his game is very similar to Rothliesburger's in that it's playground style.

Have you watched the all-22 of the games this year? It's pretty obvious. He is rarely looking to more than one 3rd of the field, particularly downfield. There have been several plays in each game where players are wide open and Russel did not even look to that side. These awesome catches by our receivers have been mostly due to him forcing it into covered players as opposed to great reads, they have just worked out well so far.
Yeh, RW isn't really all that good at making a bunch of outstanding plays, he's just blessed with a plethora of luck  SMH

I like the part where you didn't actually address anything I said, nor did you actually make any point yourself. Quality post.

I get it! You're a stathead. Hint for you, go with Luck it's less stress and obvious.

Not talking about stats at all. Talking about what I am seeing on the all-22. It hasn't been particularly good and I'm just being honest.

Things tend not to look "good on the all-22" when you have .67 seconds to throw the ball on each snap. Lets add to that: small sample size, one game in a driving rain storm, games against 3 of the better defenses in football, etc etc....

RW will get his when its deserved, and it may be at some point. But there have been far too many negative variables at play to declare he is "not progressing" by over analyzing videos shots.

Let it play out a bit. Revisit it in a few weeks and we'll see if it still warrants hand wringing.

I don't have that service. Either way it is not about Wilson but that horrid OL.

Like I said, most of it is probably due to the pressure, but it IS the reality of what he is doing right now. Unfortunately, I think he is spooked to the point that even when he does have time, he does the same stuff.

Or someone is not open early in his very much shortened window, and become open near the end of his progression when his eyes are elsewhere. Happens all the time...AND, unless the camera is focused upon his eyes, you have no idea whether he's only focusing on 1/3 of the field.

Easy just to watch all 22 and hen peck away though.

So is there just zero criticism allowed for Wilson on this forum then?
