It is a perfect spot for him. I expect their playoff results to look eerily similar to ours post 2018-ish. If either the defense or running game falters, they'll look really bad

I don't see them faltering though. Their defense and run game looks like it has been built on a solid foundation with discipline and I dont see a better defense than theirs. Our 2018 beyond defenses and run games were pretty overrated making timely dumb penalties. Russ has also changed significantly. He lost a lot of fat, dropped all the outside crap and actually looks like he is playing to win. He is being paid 1.2 mill by the Steelers while still getting another 35 mill or so from the Broncos. He is in the absolute perfect situation to win a super bowl. I see them being an even bigger threat than Detroit just based on their defense, run game and Russ just playing to his strengths.

Agree. I dont think they will bencj him though. Although the pick he tossed sunday in the endzone had his OC cringing.

I think Peyton was a blessing in disguise for Russ. Watching him play, you can 100% see that they basically have him on the exact same gameplan SP put him on. Single read, if its not there, buy some time or hit your outlet. You can see they've built in a good bit of PA in the event defenses decide dtop an extra defender in the box and something opens up overtop. But other than that, the plan is very vanilla, which for Russ is fine. And i dont mean that in a negative sense. He was just never the xs and os qb, so high powered passing conceots are lost on him. But let him play within a system where the run game and D are legit and he is about as steady as you can get with the ability to make you pay if you arent careful.

Fields presents a different kind of threat. More potent overall maybe but not as steady as Russ... not as down to down reliable. Russ may not be the hilight reel he was anymore, but he also isnt going to turn the ball over much because as he has shown now with Pittsburgh and Denver he will just take the outlet, the incomplete or a sack if he isnt pretty sure he can complete the pass. I think Tomlin bring the defensive minded coach that he is is happy to take that and win the game on the ground and with his defense.

Perfect home for Russ.
My thought as always been that Russ can do this - for a while - but that he will eventually go back to hero ball. He just can't help himself. Then the never ending three and outs will show up and there will be a QB change.

Maybe you are right Keas. Maybe he has changed - and I'll be first to admit I was wrong - but I just
don't buy this is now who Russ is.

He still does a lot of 3 and outs.. He's been lucky a couple of games.
I think the game manager role fits Me3 like a glove though- TIGHT!
It remains to be seen if his "cook" ego doesn't rear its ugly head again.

It's solid, but it only takes one bad day in the playoffs. Every team in the playoffs forces their opponent to execute what they're not good at, ideally. It's rare that a team is good enough to ride their strength all the way to a SB

He's the ultimate game manager. If he would've checked his ego, he could've rode that to a first ballot hof vote and possibly a few more playoff wins

All I ever want out of any athlete is for them to ball out at what they're good at. Russ will never be Payton or Brees, and Stephen Curry will never be LeBron. So what? 3 TDs is 3 TDs, with 1 of them being the classic "Hand delivered from God" GAME WINNING beautiful moonball. Go Russ! 💪🏿

Also, what I DON'T want to hear is MFers like Brock Huard, who couldn't "cool" his way out of a wet paper bag with a chainsaw, talkin' about someone being "corny". Shut up. Russ is 10x the QB you could ever be.

F UC K THE STEALERS, THO!
Brock huard…. Nuff said

The Steelers A. Smith is using both Fields and Wilson to play to their strengths which is good enough really for what the Steelers want to do which is play ball control and ToP.

It bit them in the butt last night though. Tomlin lost that game by keeping Fields in when it was 3rd and 4 late in the 4th. Fields threw a pass my 6 year old granddaughter could have thrown which forced them to punt (shanked due to the snow). Not saying Russ would have gotten the 1st, but he would have given them a much better chance.

Yeah that pass on 3rd down was just stupid. Not sure why they put Fields in if you're going to throw the ball. Also the RB couldn't get 1 yard on 3rd and 4th down.. Why not a play action pass? Wilson was 12 for 13 on 3rd & 4th down. 203yards 1td 144.4 passer rating.
