It’s not K9. It’s the coaching and the players up front. Lets do some process of elimination here. Our tackles are not the problem. It’s our guards and the revolving door that is our center and oh, by the way, just so happens to be the position known as “the QB of the OL”.

Why was Shaun Alexander so successful? Well yes, obviously due to being gifted as a running back for one, but he doesn’t sniff the 2005 MVP without some shlubs named Jones, Hutchinson, Tobek, Gray and Locklear.

You need the horses up front in the trenches for any back to have a chance at maximizing his ability. Sadly, our horses are deficient in the interior and I’m not so sure the coaching is helping as well as they could or should be.
That was a good line

The Bucs were dead last rushing unit 2 consecutive years before this season. They invested a lot to improve that interior of the OL, drafted and signed new RBs, new OL coaches and run game coordinators and a new OC in Coen.

So the Seahawks have already Olu and two rookies but it might need to bring more talent to really shore it up.
Cody Mauch. That guy is cool. He’s got no teeth

Seahawks have one of the lowest YPC in the league while having a top 10 YPA in the passing game.

Everyone here: Run the ball!
Yep. I’d love to have a good running game but Grubb is doing what the team does best. It might not be fixable until next year

Guck Frubb. Worst short yardage offense since at least 2007 Seattle.

Anyone else find it curious that not only have we been horrible at running the ball this year but so has Alabama. Maybe these chuck it around coaches have no real idea how to run the ball against a decent defense. Bama has four lineman who will play on Sundays and two really good backs along with a mobile Qb but if you watch them their running game produces more negative runs then I’ve seen at Bama in a decade.
USC has a RB who had over 1,000 yards this season (Woody Marks), yet Lincoln Riley would inexplicably go away from the run game when it was working because he stubbornly wants to throw it all over the yard.

I would love to see consistent balance on offense again.

Thought we had some success to day. Not world beaters, but made some good plays.

I think we're very well set up at the running back position. K9 and Charbonnet are about as good as you could ask for. But I really liked what I saw of McIntosh, especially vs the Vikings. He ran hard and picked up yards. He did a commendable job as a returner. He did a fine job in protection and as an outlet. We are in great shape 3 deep if we can figure out a way to actually use them. At the least we can feel confident enough with our running backs to concentrate on infusing our O Line with some more talent...as in upgrades.
