Just when I was starting to get a feel for and like Pope. Too early to speculate if he's injury prone, but the tackle where he went down seemed pretty routine.

I"m thinking his previous injury to the same ankle hadn't healed in time. As I recalled he took the water of life and declared himself fit... the next day,

Ouch. One dissatisfied customer.

So our RB's are Rawls, Collins, Reece and Fred Taylor's kid?
Think Dallas would lend us a RB?

Nah, love the kid and hope he makes it.

Yep, with very few carries by any of them in this system, even Rawls since last year. It sucks.

Rawls had some good carries at GB, plus two catches. But I'm thinking they will rely heavily on Reece come crunch time starting two or three weeks from now, he's a proven veteran and 4 time Pro Bowler.

edit: how many different RB's has RW had to try work with this season, something like 6??

Seems to me that Rawls is just hitting his stride. If he doesn't get 15-20 carries Thurs night, I'll be surprised.

Obviously, we all hope he stays healthy. If so, he'll be a staple in the playoffs.

Yes, while Reece is solid that is exactly my hope too!

No, Bobble, I thought you were joking that Recovery Water didn't do the trick in this instance for Pope.

Hoping that this isn't the end of Pope. Still a fan of him and think he's got the goods. I fully expect to see him in camp next season.

Too bad about the Pope. He has shown a lot of potential, but needs to be able to stay healthy. Turbin and Michael weren't world beaters, but they were usually healthy. Kelvin, like just about every RB on the roster this year, is really young. Competition should be fierce for next year.

Here is to hoping Rawls goes on a ten year run of never missing a game :irishdrinkers:

I don't think it means anything.

Although I suspect we'll add a RB this offseason at or near the top of the depth chart. Right now we have a stable of RBs that all have gotten dinged up. I don't think that has anything to do with Pope, so much as they may feel they need someone to add to a top 3 RBC situation.

It's a violent game and guys get hurt. It doesn't reflect on the players' ability. It is an inherent risk that is assumed.

Holy crap Fred Taylor was a dad at 17.

Powell was all everything coming out of high school. Blew his ACL twice at Florida never lived up to the hype.

I would hope that they just needed to juggle some things around to make room for the RB they brought in, we only have a few games left and I think they realize the potential that Pope has as a future running back for Seattle. With the few carries they did allow him this season, he did reasonably well and got some serious yardage on a couple of them.

I look back to Rawls intro to the NFL from College and if you compare his first string of carry stats with Popes they are pretty similar. Pope hurt his ankle and scared to death that his chances at playing in the NFL would be lost if he didn't press himself into a quick heal up and get back on the field that it could be curtains for him. I hope to hell that management sees that and allows him the time he needs to really get healed up where he can produce for the Hawks like he did earlier on this year when he was 100%.

Until then I hope Rawls continues his return to his past performance levels and hope that Collins, who I also think has promise can get some glue on his hands so he doesn't lose the ball too often. Marshawn had his troubles starting out like many young guns making that transition from College to the pros.

Marshawn had over a 1000 yards rushing his first two years, 1299 total yards his first year with 7 TDs and 1336 total yards with 9 TDs his second. There was a dropoff the next two years, then his in first four complete years with Seattle he averaged greater than 1200 yards rushing until his last year. If you call that troubles, well, I really don't know what to say.
