Ehhh, in order of what prevents gay players from coming out, I think it causing problems in the locker room is actually pretty low.
IMO the distraction instead would be the media turning it into an insane circus.
After that it's bigoted fans, or fans from other teams who would just be opportunistically bigoted causing a distraction.
I don't think Rhodes and Collins not getting signed this year (and all things equal both of them should be on teams right now, IMO) was because of locker rooms as much as it was about avoiding the constant distractions of the media and the potential distractions of fans.
It's why there was the push last year to have a bunch of players come out at once -- the individual locker rooms weren't what people were worried about, instead they wanted to divide the weight of the media circus and have a bunch of people out at once to make it easier to shame disapproving or opportunistically homophobic fans.
Another factor of course is that heck, coming out is just a hard decision for most people. Many people don't ever do it.
For Rodgers there might also be the additional variable of him being a devout Christian (as is his supposed ex, fwiw).
In any case, my basic feelings are if true, I imgaine it's pretty sh!tty to not be allowed to make the decision to come out or not on one's own terms. So, not so much a "who cares?" response to this, and more of a "none of my business, or our business" interpretation.
