After seeing how Hawks D played Rivers, it's going to be very interesting to see how 49ers, Jags, and Texans play him, considering:

Rivers first game back hard to plan. Now teams have atleast a little film, could get rough for Rivers.

In the end we gave up like 220 total yards of offense to them.

I'd say the Defensive plan was a huge success.

Offensive plan was a bit of tougher to figure. I did read an article somewhere by a former NFL player and coach that stated something along these lines - you have a game-plan based on what you expect to see. When you don't see what you expect it isn't like there is a secret second back-up set of plays that will work better. You just have to work it out as you go along.

This would explain the significant time it takes to make the adjustments we do see - which thus far have been pretty good. Not great - but pretty good.

94 said that the Niners can't stop the run right now. If that's the case, the Colts have a REAL shot to win that game.

With Rivers, you aren't beating him by blitzing like we did in
the first half, it will never happen.
he may be old but he still has the quick release and I bet he
throws just as good as the skinny little Carolina QB does now.

I think the colts lose out the rest of the way. Teams have film now and know to key in on the run and give receivers no cushion. If any team goes more than a TD ahead the Colts game plan is out the window. It didn't last game as we couldn't score td's (but the colts secondary was there to be beat).

I expect everyone to keep 8 men in the box, stuff the run, and dare Rivers to try to beat them over the top. The only deep throw in that game was the interception, hardly a threat.

Their D showed good speed, but they lack depth. If we had kept running the ball and kept them on the field, they would have broke down. As it was, we could have rolled the pocket and done some other things to disrupt their pass rush.

I gotta believe there are things KK didn’t want to put on tape that will come out in the coming weeks that are less vanilla.

I certainly hope so anyway…
