The last time JS had just 4 picks...in 2021... he traded up.

This is a pretty weak draft class from what I have read. Unless they think there is a can't miss prospect, I don't see them trading up.

The 2021 draft was just after the pandemic, so there was very little information to go on, which might explain why JS went into it with such little capital.

JS isn't stupid, though.
Neither is Mike Macdonald.

I think it very telling that the Hawks levied a hefty fine on Woolen for his taunting penalty in the NFCCG. I don't see the Hawks offering Woolen anywhere close to his market value. I think he's gone, too. But it's not unreasonable to think that he could get an offer north of $25M. After all, Sauce Gardner got a $30M deal last year.

Like PT Barnum once said: "There's a sucker born every minute."

i dont even really want him at a home team discount let alone top FA money. like others said i cant imagine he can stay motivated with a fat stack in his bank account when he cant even stay focused in the biggest of moments. and he didnt exactly help himself in the super bowl either when giving up the shutout. honestly not sure why any team would really want him. hes not good enough to make anyone a contender and who wants to deal with the headache when your not

Eagles, Titans or the Cards need CB help desperately. Hope he goes to the flaming thumbtacks.

This situation with Woolen reminds me a lot of the Percy Harvin trade. Ever since Harvin was in high school, he was a headache for every coach he played for. Pete thought that he was different from Harvin's previous coaches, that his personality and style was so superior to others that he could soothe the savage beast, could succeed where others had failed.

I don't want to pay Woolen top dollar, either. It's way too much of a risk. Let him walk and accept the comp pick.

To be honest I think we should let him walk unless the money is around 8 mil a year. He’s going to go to a team and get torched all day. Because he won’t have the same leadership to hold him accountable. I like him. But he isn’t worth top dollar. He was bad for half the year.
