Florida and loving GOP country!
Ran across this, not sure how valid it is. Anybody else here anything about this?

Either way this dude is a knucklehead who will probably never get it. Couldn't care less about his apology, hopefully he's sent packing in the off season.

I saw this as well, but I am not sure it is legit.

Yes, we do have an idea. First of all, if what you postulated above is true, then why did Woolen apologize and ask for forgiveness? Why didn't he instead plead his case and state his innocence? His apology is an admission of guilt.

Secondly, it happened right in front of the ref, well within his earshot. I can say with near certainty that he would not have thrown the flag if it was something complimentary as you are suggesting. That is, unless someone wants to engage in another conspiracy theory, that the refs have it in for Woolen and/or the Hawks.

So, while it's true that we don't know exactly what it was that Woolen said, we can make some reasonable assumptions.
Pretty sure he's referring to the hand shake at the end of the game. And he's already admitted guilt publicly.

Ngl….flip flop back and forth on this.

I understand both sides (keep him, let em walk).

Won’t even begin to list PFF stats as I think that’s a complete joke.

I’m confident someone will pay him a pretty penny….and we will not match it. That….would be the right move.

If you go back the past few games, I’ve seen some good plays from him…and I’ve seen some terrible, terrible coverage from him.

I’m proud of him for focusing on tackling a bit…he used to be absolutely horrendous at that.

But, lock down corner? No.

I don’t even consider Spoon as a ‘lock down’ CB from the traditional standpoint. Spoon, however, is a phenomenal hybrid type guy. Definitely one of my favorite Hawks.

Lock down being a Revis…Sherm…Sanders….Bailey…etc. Rare company…I know. Not every team can be so blessed.

But, if I had to guess, JS and MM are going to be looking for a true #1 CB in this next draft.

Riq will only be here if the price is right. Which means, he’s bouncing to the highest bidder.

Well if they taunt him, they get a Penalty... That said, yes it was dumb, but that penalty in a f, n champiionship game seemed rather petty and really a warning would have sufficed. Of course Riq had a chance and failed to redeem himself on the following play.
And got burned like toast. Owned in fact. Spoon saved his a** with 2 huge plays in 3rd and 4th down in the end zone.

So you want to give your opinion, but stop other from giving theirs? Not quite the way the forum works.
What I was reacting to was the telling of others to 'chill.' That's not an opinion; it's an admonishment for expressing an opinion. And I did say 'please.'

Is Woolen 'dirty'?
Is taunting 'dirty'?

You must have hated Browner then. He WAS dirty. But not to injure, just loved to fight people. And man, I loved that dude. He was also good for 1-3 penalties per game. But God it was worth it. (You could easily argue that losing Browner was one of the biggest reasons we lost that SB). I miss that dude and I don't care how many people he killed or didn't kill.

Woolen is more a talker than a fighter. I've never once seen him try to injure or hurt an opposing player. Has he ever even punched an opponent? (Myles Garrett swung a helment at a QB...and I love watching that dude too. Would LOVE to magically get him on the Seahawks)

Woolen is mouthy. And honestly, he has been through a lot. Used to make a ton of mistakes. Was mercilessly ripped here and by his coaches. Somehow put it together (this year!) and became our best corner. But he still yaps like a little dog too much. If that is the cost of his play? Might be worth it. MM knows how good he is. Know how? MM kept putting him on Puka...even in man. (Yes, he immediately gave up that TD...but you could argue the coaches failed him there. Also Puka has burned enough corners this is not an indictment). The rest of his play was key to keeping the Rams from coming back.
I liken it to having a Hot Rod car - they are unmatched in performance - but temperamental and require constant supervision. They will, by their very nature, bite back on occasion.

This is Woolen - the coaches can decide if we are better off with/without him and I will accept their judgment on that. He will not be easy to replace.

I like woolen, I don’t mind him owning up for it either. But damn some of yall need to chill tf dude apologized get the F- over it. Move on, focus on NE and the superbowl instead.
and I look at it this way. I would almost guarantee he plays lights out in the SB where we need him and there is a zero % chance he does it in that game either. He's going to be motivated to prove it to his teammates, fans, coaches etc and I can't wait to see it. Diggs is going to be shut down.

A distinct possibility. As I've said earlier, that's how to respond to the incident, not begging fans for forgiveness. Actions speak louder than words. Go show us that you mean it.

Calling it, Woolen, will redeem himself and get two pick 6s and be Super Bowl DMVP (I know such a thing doesn’t exist) lol. Just kidding.

Do I forgive Woolen? I’ll side with whatever Mac decides to do.

Don’t think Mac will bench Woolen but it will likely be Woolen’s last game with Seattle. And Woolen will leave Seattle a Super Bowl NFL Champion!
