The only good that came out of this apology was Riq giving the nod to Mort, one of the greatest characters of all time. Mort is unpredictable, wild, loyal to a fault, but is mostly out for their own self interests. I love Mort.

I wouldn't call that "having a beef".

I would call that Nick asking Riq "what happened?" and Nick being like "damn, that's tough".

It's all good though.

Winning cures all ills.

Best lessons are learned when you win so now we have one more game to win so everything Riq has done to drive us insane will have been worth it. ;)

Um....he almost cost this team a SB. And you're OK with that? FFS man.
He almost cost us a SB? He gave up a 1st down and kept the drive alive. Fair.

But the coaches were the reason we gave up that 7. Everyone knew he was going to be targeted and everyone knew he would still be upset about the taunting screwup. So they put him aone against Puka? With no safety help??

THAT almost cost us a SB. He made a stupid mistake that hurt the team. But that 7 was a big error on our D coaches. He enabled it, true. But a better decision means that is 3, not 7.

I don't care. NOTHING can be said that will change facts. ZERO EXCUSE for doing what he did. ZERO. It was selfish. He was warned and STILL did it. Pathetic

I’m not seeing anyone argue that. The question is how the team moves forward.

If MM/JS think he’s coachable and willing to give him $$, far be it from me to question that.

Trying to understand posters saying “I’m done with him”. What does that even mean? Like we have any say in the matter. We have 0 influence on JS/MM decisions.

If they extend him, will they root against him? To me, it’s like holding your breath to show people you’re mad. Weak emotional state, just like Riqs taunting…childish.

Riq might be DK 2.0…yet to be seen. Based on my limited knowledge, Riq appears to want to be here, which gives him motivation to change. I have a lot of faith in MM’s ability to work wonders with those types of players. Isn’t it the best case scenario if that can happen?

That pass to Puka never happens if Reek had walked away when the ref
asked him to, that is plain and simple.
Him getting beat on a questionable catch is his fault, "do your job".

At least he owned it and apologized. I mean it was a terrible, terrible mistake that would have NEVER been forgotten if we lost but I don't think I'm on the same level of "no forgiveness" that a lot of fans are continuing to stand on. Overall he has been pretty good this year and if he is owning it and wants to continue then I support it. At least for the SB. Super short leash if he messes up again though.
I think it’s worth noting that I’m sure that the sideline was doing their fair share of shit talking as well and there’s a good chance that Riq was literally just replying now that they were quiet because he just made a play. I think it was more a bad call on the ref then it was an egregious act by our guy. With that being said this is playoff football and at this point the only way we lose is if we beat ourselves with situations like that other teams are gonna talk shit they are gonna do things like that headbutt Lenoir did on JSN . They can’t beat us with talent so they have to try to get us to be ourselves by getting emotional. I think it was an important learning moment that will ensure nobody makes a mistake and acts on motion during the big game.

It is the first time he has apologized for it.
Which shows that he's accepted the fact that there is a problem, and kudos for him manning up. But an apology or request for forgiveness means nothing unless there's a correction or some sort of improvement.

He's taken the first step, which is acknowledging that there is a problem.

This is his contract year as he's a UFA after this season, so they're going to have to make a decision on him very soon.

At this point, he's not a player that we should break the bank for. He's had too many problems in the past, particularly with motivational issues, i.e. loafing, sloppy tackling, etc., which is concerning as he might be one of those players who does great during his contract year then slacks off when he gets paid ala Quandre Diggs.

If Woolen wants to come back at on a team friendly deal with strings attached, then I'm good with having him back. Otherwise, don't let the door hit ya where the Good Lord split ya!

Nope. Not buying his "apology"
He nearly cost us a SB. He was warned by the refs to NOT taunt. He did it anyway. He is a selfish player. He needs to be gone. There is ZERO excuse for taunting. We would have had the ball again, up 11 and could have easily ran a 3 or 4 minutes off the clock. Basically game at that point. It's not hard. WALK AWAY. EXACTLY what I have been saying for years.
On an episode of GET UP on ESPN, Rex Ryan said that was one of the most selfish things I have ever seen a player do and he got Karma'd for it with a TD thrown over his head to Puka.

If he cost us the game, I wouldn't have been ok with that.

The point I am making here is that we won so the only thing to do is to learn from it (even though he probably won't).

I know that what he did basically doomed any shot of him being re-signed here.

If that had cost us the game it would have long lived in Seahawk infamy. It was that untimely and horrible.
