:( Yeah, I posted this in the Mariners forum as well since it is baseball.

One of the greatest of all time.

He was the best of his era. He could do it all, and at an MVP level. Better than Mantle... better than Clemente... better than Ernie Banks... better than Hank Aaron.

He was worth the price of admission, and I loved watching him play the game.

RIP, brother. You deserve it.

There is a game tomorrow at Rickwood Field Birmingham Alabama which is the oldest baseball stadium in America that was part of the negro leagues Willie Mayes had played there before getting to the majors, he had been invited for the celebration which he had turned down with no reason given I guess we know why. I didn’t blame him for not wanting to travel at 93 yrs of age

Willie Mays? Isn't he the guy who does all those infomercials?
That guy died back in 2009.

I remember this, because, I used to play pub trivia at O'Blarneys in Lacey on Thursday nights back then. A group of women responded to the news by naming their team "Why Couldn't It Have Been the Sham-Wow Guy?"

Vince Offer? He's way cooler than Billy Mays. Hilarious, too. Not sure why anyone would prefer Mays to Offer.
