Exactly. If I was JS I would at this point say, look we drafted Tariq Woolen, not Riq Woolen. Contract is void unless you change your name back and play like that guy

At this point in the season, with the last season as extra proof, the longer "Riq" Woolen plays, the more it's on coaching themselves instead of Woolen. They have Kendrick AND Jobe playing great football, there's no excuse about "who's going to replace him?"

Spoon had his guys covered at least and had an eye for the ball (just got beat a couple times on stellar plays). Woolen never knows where the ball is and just gets beaten constantly because his guy is always open.

Disappointing that no one has mentioned that Wooden is 4 inches longer and 20 lbs heavier than the rest of the corner backs. Great size for outside leverage in support of cover 3 like in the days of Sherman and Browner. But, Mcdonald is building from the inside out and tending toward making use of smaller corner backs with shorter / quicker gaits that can travel and provide tight man coverage in addition to zone. Compare the feet in the film study forum as well as the many .... many other film study resources.

Thanks for clarifying.

From what I recall, Carroll's defense had already transitioned from cover 3 dominant to an increasingly hybrid scheme. Woolen's second year exposed him as less proficient at traveling well across the field or in man to man. Thus the transition to smaller corner backs.
