Saw an interesting Julio stat during last night's game.

He has exactly two extra-base hits with runners in scoring position all year.
Yeah, he's near career averages in most offensive categories, but that seems abysmal from one of your core hitters.

Maybe it's more of a team thing? What is it with this squad and their lack of timely hitting? Seems pervasive.

It's been an issue for all of the first half of the season, and it's not just Julio. Don't have stats on the rest of the guys, but it's been bad all season. We need less 'swinging for the fences' and more 'put the ball in play' action.

Only TWO extra base hits with RISP is indeed absolutely pathetic & a big part of why this team is really .500 at best. Unless they start magically hitting, it's a wrap. His OBA+SLG is extremely low for someone they hype as a run producer & overall best player. He's not cutting it.

Yep. Very few teams is ANY are as bad as the M's with RISP. It's beyond maddening. 50 years and counting.

FFS man. This team. Geezus

Gonna' lose ANOTHER series to ANOTHER crap team.

They MIGHT win one game on the upcoming road trip. I'm calling for 2-5 and feel like that's even generous.

And as usual the same 3 people run in here excited to tell us they suck.
Then again, I'm part of that now. They DO suck.

Oh man, they are gonna' get DESTROYED on this upcoming road trip. 5 games out by the end of the month wouldn't surprise me in the least.

I tried to be optimistic. Waste of energy. This team sucks a**

The mariners got some tough teams coming up, on the toad
And at home. Your prediction may be right Soulfish.

Oh it will be. I doubt they win even 3 games. Would love to be wrong. But, this just isn't a good baseball team.

Disappointing home series, going 3-3.

Still can't get runs across. Pitching is still good, another quality start today, though Bazardo's hiccup cost us the game. Still, the offense needs more than 2-3 runs/game if they want to win consistently.

Really tough road trip ahead, though at least it isn't on the East coast. Texas is bad enough.

This is the worst hitting team in major league baseball by overall team batting average. Literally the absolute worst.

They'll be at least 5 games under .500 by this time next week, and most likely selling at the deadline a few short days after that. Considering the expectations for this season, not by the fans, but by the national sports media and by "Vegas", this has been a disaster.

Any other team in baseball and heads would roll for this debacle. Including and especially the guys responsible for building the roster, Dipoto and Hollander. But not in Seattle. In Seattle, results at the major league level don't matter as long as we have a highly rated farm system. This is year 11 under Dipoto. This guy has had 11 years to build a decent major league lineup, and he just can't do it. It's beyond time to move on.
