I will always take the word of random internet fans over a World Champion staff of coaches.

Because obviously, some guy on the internet who once played football in high school and coached his kid's little league team obviously knows a TON more about talent scouting linebackers than an entire paid staff of coaches. Yeah. Totally.

I also get all my stock picks from Jim Cramer, and believe everything Fox News tells me. My neighbor once told me that if you feed alka seltzers to seagulls their stomachs explode. I tried it and nothing happened, but I still believe.

Who are you arguing with? I'm happy you don't do the aforementioned, but I am concerned you argue with imaginary people. Even online, that's weird.

I don't understand the worry that some have regarding Wagner and Wilson. There is no way that Wagner and Wilson do not get extended. That we should not worry about for a second.

This extension all but solidifies that Maxwell, and Avril will not be returning next year. Simon will be an adequate in house replacement for Maxwell. Marsh replacing Avril on the other hand is a different story

Of all our LB's Wright has been the worst and in a tie with Smith for the least impactful player at LB on the team.

Last year he played way better, but I have been watching him very close since spying on his dreadful play in San Diego and to me, he was a goner. That is why I'm not a GM, but I AM a fan that watches very close, and I hope he earns that money going forward.
My advice? Back away from the binoc's. [emoji41]

Wow, I seem to be in a very small minority here. In this corner there's just me, Pehawk, Scotte, Kearly, Dr Diags.

In that corner over there there's loads of you - Sgt Largent, Hans Gruber, that guy there, a bunch of other people I have never heard of...

Actually, I'm fine thanks. I'll stay over here.

What kind of question is that? If they're a regular poster on seahawks.net, but no one's ever seen or met him/her, he's undoubtedly obese and homely looking.

I'm not arguing with anyone, Pe. I'm openly laughing at the people on this forum who think they can watch a broadcast of a professional football game on TV, and think that makes them an expert on professional football scouting, coaching and management.

It is literally the equivalent of some stoner watching a heart surgery on cable TV, and then pontificating to their elderly father on why he shouldn't have that triple bypass. Never mind your cardiologist... I watch cable TV, I'm an expert!!

Simple fact - you and Scotte and everyone else on this forum doesn't have the slightest shred of knowledge about our players or how they perform, or how they will be graded by the coaching staff. Sure, you know when someone's really good (Wilson) or really bad (Whitehurst). But outside of those very extremes, you literally don't know anything. And it's hilarious listening to you guys pontificate as if you really do know what you're talking about. As if you are qualified to comment on any contract. You don't speak to the agents, you don't speak to the coaches, you don't speak to the scouts. You don't have the first clue what that player's value is, and it's hilariously pretentious to even pretend that you do. Especially when you add the passive-agressive attempts at martyrdom.

I'll be excited about the signing because Pete Carroll is excited about it. Pete Carroll has won multiple championships at multiple levels of the sport. He will be in the Hall of Fame. People will talk about his greatness 50 years after his death. You are a random nobody on the internet. I'll stick with the people who get paid for their expertise, and that doesn't include anyone on this forum.

I'll never say an opinion is wrong just because disagrees with a move the FO makes. But what makes me not worried about the cap figure is this: there is no ego involved with this FO. Have they been perfect? No. Have they made some big mistakes? Of course. But the thing that, IMO, sets them apart is not their ridiculous ability to get more right than wrong, it's how quickly they realize their mistakes and fix them. The Harvin trade is the most perfect example, also Matt Flynn. They refuse to go down with a burning ship.

So in a couple of years when (assuming) KJ's deal starts to increase they will evaluate him and his pay. And if he's not playing up to his contract, he will go the way of Red Bryant and Chris Clemons.

A 27 million dollar contract (no idea how it's structured yet, I haven't seen it posted anywhere) is not going to make or break our cap situation. And I echo the sentiment of a few posters in saying that I love KJ and Bobby on the field together and I think the Hawks don't want Bobby and a bunch of unprovens because we have the ability to do something special here. Dare I say...dynasty?

Then why are you here? I mean, by your own logic, there's no room discussion, at all.

Quit the hyperbole, take a stand for your principles, and quit participating then.

Also, duely noted the next time you state and opinion.

Not sure why anyone would doubt them finding a way to extend Wagner. Very important piece.

I am surprised by how much he got, but I would rather have us spend money on PROVEN players that have succeeded in a Hawks uni instead of going out and spending huge money on losers like Rice and Harvin.

So for the people who don't like this move, just remember that they could've used the $ on Rice 2.0 or Harvin 2.0

Might as well keep as many core players as possible, even if some of them are kind of the outside layer of the core.

This is unexpected but I like it. Wright gives them versatility. I do wonder what this might mean for Avril and whether they are considering moving Irvin back to LEO.

You are tilting windmills. I said it seemed a bit steep. Shit, KJ said it was more than he expected, which means it was a bit steep.

So leave me out of your quest, Quixote.

Ok so i lied that wasn't my last post.. Do I expect them to be perfect? No. I can find other mistakes of various levels. But go find me a team that makes zero mistakes, that hits on picks like this organization does and has been as close to back to back super bowl apperances? Ill wait.......................

Why do you need to bash this organization right now? This is the absolute pinacle of the franchise. They have never been to this level and you feel the need to bash. I honestly feel sorry for you you can't enjoy this.

Can you hear that truck backing up? The whole pinnacle of your argument was that the front office knows more than us and decided to make this move therefore its a good move. You were proven wrong via example. Boom

This is the worst argument I have ever heard, and I live with a woman.

ALL front offices are full of professionals, yet bad decisions and bad contracts are given all the time. Sometimes everybody knows a decision is ludicrous as it's being made - people openly laughed as the Panther signed two RBs to huge extensions, which have turned out to cripple that team.

You know who else had won multiple championships? Joe Gibbs. And he came back from retirement, standing on the sideline making "broom broom" racecar noises and pretending to look at a clipboard during games, and if you want to say that no one could question what he did with Washington on his second go round then, well, I don't know how to answer that. No one gets a pass in this life, and although I will always trust Pete and John over my own thinking, doesn't mean I won't raise an eyebrow now and again.

Front offices are full of humans, and humans are not always rational. I agree that our FO seems to be free of ego (think Harvin, Lendale White, quite a few 4th round picks dropped in training camp, etc), so that is a comfort. Would I put it passed them to be too generous to a player they value highly due to a mix of loyalty and appreciation? No.

We don't know the true numbers of the contract, or how it is structured, so nobody really knows how this contract looks. However, if the earlier tweet from Davis Hsu is correct and KJ would have signed for less, then by definition the contract is sub-optimal. Also, they are probably overpaying by today's values, but they are presumably trying to anticipate next year's "price" in the OLB market. We may get to next year and find that teams are looking to spend on QB, WR, DE and CB, and cannot be bothered spending on OLBs when they are reasonably fungible and a lot of teams spend more than 50% of the time in nickel anyway. People get markets wrong all the time.

Are we wailing and rending our garments whilst burning our jerseys? No. Just expressing some initial surprise. I posted just yesterday that I thought KJ would be allowed to leave and they would roll with Irvin, Wags and KPL as starters next year, so I am especially surprised.

I've expressed my surprise, and now I will move on to something else. But in order to be consistent, you must agree to never question any decision made in the future if it is made by a professional. Deal?

I'm worried that this random guy on the internet is grooming Hans in some way. It probably all stems from his failed football career. I certainly wouldn't let my kids play on his team, and not just because of the 18 hour round trip to training.
