Sure sucks to see Cal struggling so badly. He's hitting .175 with an OPS under .700 in his last 30 games.

(And no, it's not because of the HR derby. He started slumping before the derby.)

That topic is usually misleading. I don't think anyone says slumps from home run derby dudes are because of the home run derby directly. It's more of it wears on the player. There's a reason this always gets brought up. It's happened to a lot of participants of the home run derby. Just one of those things. I've heard stories of managers not wanting their best home run hitters doing the derby.

Sorry to say this, but I think we got Bad Geno again. He's right back to chasing breaking stuff out of the zone again & getting beat on hard stuff above the belt. This version of Geno is not hitting 36 bombs by Aug.....

There's a difference between playing in Arizona vs here. Lol and this will open up the stadium/climate debate for hitters. Like the home run derby thing, this always gets brought up. Another one of those things. People debate like it's a binary thing. I believe it does effect players just not as much as one would think. Even if it's just by an inch or two, baseballs fly better in the desert. That *can* get into hitters heads. When you're hitting major league pitching the smallest things in the world seem big. I was watching 2001 Ms highlights the other day and Lou had Bortolo Colon change his undershirt because it was too distracting. Baseball is weird.

Whaddya gonna do? Cal is 0-fer on the night and then rips a 3 run bomb to win it.

Castillo with a solid 7 innings. When you throw that many fastballs around the zone, some of them are gonna get hit and go far. But saved the pen a bit. Brash a little shaky, but got the save. That foul ball 2 feet off the pole was scary.

Cool Young. Absolutely great at 2B and has a pretty good eye at the plate, too. Think I'm gonna like this kid.
