That topic is usually misleading. I don't think anyone says slumps from home run derby dudes are because of the home run derby directly. It's more of it wears on the player. There's a reason this always gets brought up. It's happened to a lot of participants of the home run derby. Just one of those things. I've heard stories of managers not wanting their best home run hitters doing the derby.Sure sucks to see Cal struggling so badly. He's hitting .175 with an OPS under .700 in his last 30 games.
(And no, it's not because of the HR derby. He started slumping before the derby.)
