Yeah, not sure how you can just ignore who was missing in that game, Hox. Shoot, they lost dudes DURING the game.

I agree with the OP, the key to this game is getting pressure on Stafford. My fantasy is that we pressure Stafford enough for a few sacks and maybe a turnover or two.

In the last game againsit the Rams, the Seahawks got no pressure on Stafford, and as a result, he had all day, and passed for 457 yards and 3 TDs. Nwosu, Hall and Mafe all had forgettable games, and they are the key to winning this game.

Yeah there were pressures and hits, but we haven't sacked him once this season.

I don't know if they'll be able to do it with just 4. May need to bring it...

There were plenty of adjustments. Don't gloss over what happened in the 4th quarter. 5 STRAIGHT DRIVES WITHOUT A SCORE, INCLUDING 3 STRAIGHT 3 AND OUTS. They don't win that game w/out that. Also, NEITHER team had a sack in the 1st game, which the Hawks ONLY lost because of the turnovers. Stafford had 130 passing yards, and they had 249 total yards. Hawks had 414 yards and almost 38 minutes of TOP. 26 first downs to 12. I'm not sure what game you watched, but the Hawks DOMINATED that game.

It's clear to me that the ONLY way to stop the Rams fear from some of you is to win on Sunday. Even then, it'll probably be the same fear next year. I don't get it at all, but whatever. To each his/her own. F THE RAMS.

I never hope for an opposing team player to be injured, but having a severely bruised ego for the whole off season sounds good to me. I would settle for Stafford having to sit on a pillow on the flight home because he has a bruised butt from us putting him on it all game would be nice too.

Theres multiple keys to winning this...not just 1 or 2
Pressure on Stafford is one. But its not just pressure....we have to get to him. At least 3-4 times. Thats when just pressure will make him have "happy feet" and make him start forcing throws into coverage.
Stop Rams from starting fast. IMHO this is more important than even us starting fast.
Myers will have to be "spot on"...no mistakes. Every point counts.
The usual "no mental mistakes". No penalties, no missed tackles. No turnovers. Good solid fundamental football.
We have more depth, so rotate players to keep them as fresh as possible...mainly on defensive line. If this turns into a grinder, that'll help in the 4th quarter.
And change things up a little on offensive, maybe up tempo no huddle in critical times, like if we are moving the ball well.....exhaust them, no chance to substitute. Break them down any way we can, brick by brick.

Pressure up the gut to make him move off his spot and screw up timing route. He isn't going to scramble like he could 10 years ago and he wasn't great then. He is a tough guy have to get him thinking more than just playing.

Puke, is also a damn tough guy, need to get in his head and that means physical, he is a tenacious blocker as well, that's where you punch him in the mouth, figuratively speaking.

The TE's are going to be his safety valves, need to play them like WR's Parkinson has been huge for them.

Adams is a Red Zone threat, more mortal the rest of the field, don't let him get started early, play him tough in red zone.

They had enough run game to keep us honest last time, need to shut it down and make Stafford and McVay predictable.

Genuinely feel Coach Mike held backs bit of the play book back some defensively

The have to get to Stafford. It's that simple. Force him to go to his checkdowns and tackle immediately for minimal gain if any. Forcing him to rush his throws will throw off his timing on the deep shots. Stop the run.

In other words....repeat the same formula used against the niners.

It's weird, but I have this nagging feeling that the Seahawks are going to stifle the Rams offense--not shutdown, stifle.

I wish I had the stats in front of me for Stafford under pressure. They showed it on one of the national shows, and his completion percentage goes WAY down. He's a hell of a QB. However, he can get really careless under pressure.

Stafford is more susceptible to being blitz-sacked while under center than under gun. Under gun, he can see it coming...

Mina Kimes talks more about that here:
