I like the trade for the Rams. They keep that roster talented via coaching and developing fringe players into good role starters. It makes sense to trade for premium talents at spots of need when you can keep the roster at playoff contention caliber with cheap, renewable talent.
That's what great development from the coaching staff does for a team. Frees them up to take shots.
And make no mistake, they've GOT to take shots if they wanna dethrone a team that now has the same advantage in terms of league-leading coaching and front office staff, who just happens to be their division rival who spanked them twice on the way to the Super Bowl.
If the Rams dont want the Santa Clara treatment of seeing Seattle take over their home locker room and hoist a Lombardi on their home turf, they need some more talent and they need it pronto.
Really do love this move for them. It aint gonna be enough, but I think it's smart. Especially when they're still holding Atlanta's much-better top pick.
