Just curious if any of you California Hawks have heard interviews since the game. Curious if anyone asked Kaep about walking off the field, Aldon about his pentalty, etc.

Links appreciated.

Going to be a boring week with Jacksonville coming to town.

I listened to the pre-game press conferences and it's abundantly clear the San Fran media are scared sh*tless of Harbaugh and the players and won't challenge them on anything.

Bizarre post.

Any links to Seattle media cornering Rice about his unsportsmanlike penalty? Links to Seattle media cornering Sherman about doing a T.O. impression and dancing with the cheerleaders and then running up and smacking Harbaugh on the ass only to later b!tch to the media about how he was disrespected because he didn't see Harbaugh turn around and congratulate him on the win? Links to Seattle media cornering Lynch about taunting for standing at the goal line instead of going into the endzone?

Not that I even remotely care about any of these things (first time bringing them up anywhere, and I won't again), but you guys knocked the socks off of a Super Bowl team that's believed to be (rightly or wrongly) one of the best in the league, and you're still finding stuff to b!tch about like you lost. You just had a huge and impressive win. There's nothing to be upset about. Take a breath and enjoy it guys. ;)

PC and/or the players addressed almost all of those things. Just listen to the press conference after the game.

Well, Papaki's presser was a lame ass joke.

Otherwise, I am pretty sure Niners are laying low this week.

Who's upset? Your quarterback scurried off of the field during the game like a baby. I find it comical and would love to hear someone call him on it face to face.

Our coaches and players are very accommodating with our media (as well as other teams' I might add). Quite the opposite of Harbaugh and Kaepernick who provide one or two word responses to questions and try to make the experience as uncomfortable as possible.

Seattle media noted that Sherman was unfair (or inaccurate) in his description of Harbaugh's reaction so, yes, if you would like to hear it you're welcome to look up some podcasts from KJR or 710 ESPN here in Seattle.

^^^ Oh, okay, yeah, Bay Area media has also talked about all the things you're complaining about after your victory.

What's the standard here? Local media holding the players' feet to the fire when interviewing them or media just talking about and criticizing? The standard seems to be jumping around dependent on convenience.

As for Kaep "scurrying" around "like a baby," again, you won in a blowout and you're acting like you've been scorned in a loss. What in the world are you sensitive about, dude? You just had an enormous and impressive win. Be happy. :)

We didn't get enough of Kaepernick's tears, that's all. They are so delicious. He ran away and cheated us out of watching him squirm even more.

don't you have a Colts thread you should be derailing?

Who's bitching? Life's good, 2-0 heading into a matchup with Jacksonville. Trust me, we are enjoying every last drop of this sweet nectar.. one could say savoring it like a fine wine..

Pretty happy, "dude". :th2thumbs:

Good to hear. And sorry if me saying "dude" was interpreted as another imagined slight. That sincerely wasn't my intention.

Seriously tho, your team is way too good for the sore winners thing. It's just weird.

This is what makes our team great. There's always something to improve on with them and they always say it to hold themselves accountable. This is why guys like Baldwin, Sherman, LOB, etc. play so tough, because there's always a chip on their shoulder and it's not goona come off until they hold that Lombardi up. It's a good feeling to win, but still gotta put in the work for what's next.

^^^ I think every fan of every good team believes this about their team, but in any case, wasn't commenting on the players or staff. Point taken though.

The only thing that's bizarre is your reply.

Firstly, I'm not sure why my criticism of the San Francisco press pack suggests that I'm 'bitching or moaning' about anything. I think the Seattle media equally live an easy life, barely challenging the players or coaches. I watched all the interviews. The beat writers sit around tolerating Jim Harbaugh's 2-3 word replies and seem almost grateful for the opportunity to sit in his presence. One guy asked him three questions about Stanford for some reason. Alex Boone did a press conference where 90 seconds in he got up to leave because nobody could think of anything to say. Then he came out with an absolute corker of a quote saying he wanted to punch Clay Matthews. Any follow up question on that? Nah.

Secondly, it's great to know you're really annoyed by Sherman and Rice. That was the plan.

Just for clarification, I love Sherman as a player obviously, and I also find his "antics" hilarious (him clearly being a really smart guy makes it even easier to like him). And as for Rice, I don't really care about him either way. He had a good season once and he spun a ball. Who cares? Seems like you want to make what I said something it isn't?

Re: Harbaugh (and Kaep for that matter) being terse with the local media, what exactly are you saying the media should do about it? It's something they've repeatedly criticized him for and it has basically turned into a gag of sorts for the media in the bay area.

Re: Boone saying he "wanted to punch Clay Matthews" rather than fine him money, so what? Browner said he wanted to choke Jim Harbaugh. You're either offended by both or offended by neither. Personally, I'm offended by neither of them.

Maybe he injured his pride and had to leave the game early to get it checked out.

Look for the injury report this week.

Nope... in fact I don't even know why we're talking about Sherman and Rice.

What should they do? Challenge him on it. I'm a journalist. If anyone ever spoke to me like that in an interview, I wouldn't just keep asking questions like everything's cool. We have a way of doing things over here. Keep asking the same question until you get a proper answer. You'll be surprised how often that tactic works.

You've completely missed the point.

If I was sat in that press conference, I would've done anything to keep Boone talking about that particular subject. It's a dynamite quote. A complete gift to the media. He says he'd punch Matthews, then the press conference just ends. WTF? Not even one person wanted to follow that up to see what else he might say?

My criticism throughout this thread has been against the San Fran media. Not your team. Not my team. The San Fran media.

I'm still confused why you're talking about other things. Maybe the beat down actually dealt you a concussion through the TV screen?

I don't know how Popeye got that there was any b!tching in this post and/or the OP... :?:

Anyway, I was also curious to hear what Hardouche and the players had to say after the game. I guess I have to go to 49ers.com and see what they have on there. No help from our resident whiners.

I have to imagine answering questions and having press conferences after losses, especially important games, is really hard and not fun. I know I probably wouldn't be giving the most detailed and thought-out answers if it were me.

Fine to drop it, so last response, and you are of course free to take the last word. :)

You said "it's great to know you're really annoyed by Sherman and Rice" and I clarified that I really, really like Sherman and am completely nonplussed by Rice. As your claim was that I was really annoyed by them, it seemed that you wanted to make what I said something it wasn't. That was all. Happy to drop it.

Three quick things:

1) This is why I asked for links to the local Seattle beat reporters holding the Hawks' feet to the fire and not accepting platitudinous answers. Nobody has given me an example yet. Maybe they're there. If not, I think you might be mistaking a larger problem in sports journalism with something specific.

2) It seems You were expecting beat reporters to get bully with Harbaugh in a pre-game press conference? Have you ever seen anything but platitudes come from a pre-game press conference? I haven't.

3) As for the silver bullet strategy of the way you are "doing things over there" (don't know where "there" is, no problem if you'd rather not say), this is what reporters did with Harbaugh through his early tenure as coach. He just reiterated "I'm still not going to answer that [beyond platitudes]" over and over again. It was a good old fashioned standoff. At this point it's basically just a joke.

Two quickies:

1) The press conference doesn't just end. IIRC this was the first question of the press conference.

2) This is also why I brought up Browner saying he wanted to strangle Harbaugh. There was no major follow up in that either. Again, what you're claiming is a particularity of Bay Area sports journalsim doesn't really seem to stand up to any scrutiny, IMO.

For it not being about either of our teams, you seem to be taking a lot of silly little potshots that don't even remotely strengthen your argument. Just saying. (And no, don't worry, my head is fine :) ).
