thanks for letting them play fellas, GREAT JOB on the officials side!!

I saw you had plenty of skins appealing to you for first downs and flags when they got stuffed, I admire your ability to let it run off your shoulders and keep your heads in the game!!

and RGs last play, boy was he begging for a PF to give him the FD, glad you saw it like the rest of us, that guy had no business being a game of that magnitude against a team of that caliber!! RG deserves a golden globe for his performance, not a ROTY!!!

in any event good call fellas and may we have another great game officiated at a high caliber as well..

Yes a very good job, however I am soooooo upset because I found out today that Carey is the SB crew.

OMG we get to the SB again like 2005 and get screwed again by the officials.

Not this time We will not allow them to take it away from us 2 times in a row.

They did a great job letting the game go on without all the ticky tack calls we usually see.

nope u r right Carey has screwed the Hawks every game he has refed. We only beat him once cause he couldnt stop us. He is also the idiot crew that screwed all the calls in the Indy game this last weekend. They litteraly got like 5 or more bad calls wrong.

I thought they missed a PI on Tate, but that wasn't an easy call, and really could have gone both ways. There were a few holds that weren't called, but that's always going to happen.

All told, I agree. A well officiated game.

They missed a hold on Baldwin when he was making a double move on the deep pass that was overthrown. Without the hold I think it was 6.

What-what-WHAT???!!!

Please say this is a joke. And if it is, please don't ever induce a near heart-attack like that again.

The SB officials are not listed at http://www.footballzebras.com/

I actually had a nightmare before the wildcard round that he was assigned to our game.

Carey sucks. The guy made up his own rule last week in the Vikings/Packers game. I thought he'd be suspended from the playoffs for that, but instead he gets awarded the Superbowl? Absolutely disgusting. He's a bad ref, always out of position, NEVER right on replays, and seems almost like he's rehearsing the script in his head before announcing a penalty. He gives me the creeps. I hope if we don't make it, that he totally blows the game, and exposes himself as the fraud he is in front of a billion tv viewers. Maybe then the NFL would take notice and REALLY make changes. If Mike Carey is the best you have, then it's time for new officials.

Just curious, where are you hearing this? I've searched all over the internet and havnt seen anything about it. Also i've looked at past years and it seems that the officials are usually announced just 3 or 4 days before the game.

Fourth Down: Mike Carey’s officiating crew.

Carey’s crew will work this year’s Super Bowl, and based on Sunday, that is at least a little bit troublesome.

The first quarter proved particularly problematic for Carey’s group — the officials awarded a fumble to the Colts, despite Marshal Yanda emerging from a pile with the ball (and announced that possession belonged to “Indiana”); they flagged Indianapolis for a very questionable pass interference penalty, turned the other way on two potential face masks; and they ended the day with a dubious “defenseless receiver” call on Bernard Pollard.

All in all, low marks for the officials in this game.
