Power Rankings

Well it makes me wonder.. is the power rankings a reflection of who is playing the best right now? Or does it mix in a little college football -esque judgement?

It's a mix but recency bias is usually pretty heavy. Our defense was terrible for 4 games and good for two. Until the good games outnumber the bad ones and we prove it's not just a blip, I have no problem with rankers being skeptical. It is ironic however that largely the people who say they care the least about rankings always seem to be the people most upset by them.
