You don't watch the games live for real?

Not the ones like these where I hate the other team so much I have way too much invested emotionally and I don’t wish to spike my blood pressure for a 3 hour period straight. Self preservation. Works for me!

I will watch it live. I will also be recording it so I may be able to enjoy it again later. I may go over to a rams site and chat with them a bit. It is rainy outside for the next couple of days, so I am not doing too much outside. I think this is one game that I may learn tendencies of the other team. That is the only reason for recording it.

Got a hilarious text from my daughter today:

Can’t wait to not watch the game tomorrow

😂

She’s such a little mini me poor thing. We are both such neurotic messes on Gameday. I said it in another thread. I ain’t watching a lick of this game until it’s over. Self preservation, baby. What about you?
Ya know what, I’m right there with you on the stress aspect.
I certainly at times feel the physical impact of loving my Seahawks and all of the emotions involved.

The major difference between us in regards is, I can’t not watch. Not unless something makes it impossible for me to do so.

Not sure how you do it actually.
I know that I have addictive personality traits, and I suppose this is at least partially to blame.

But absolutely I agree, the stress is real and it can manifest physically especially when the passion is proportionally out of balance.

ETA

“Fan” is short for fanatic.
And if you dig into the word/label it’s not necessarily a good thing
🤣

Not a joke seabowl! Aros prefers to watch the games after (per some of his other posts).

TBH…I do too. Lately, I’ve been watching everything live but, then I’ll watch the Sunday Night game and before you know it, the whole day is consumed by watching football.

That’s not a bad thing except…I got shit to do!!

IF I KNOW I can avoid score updates, texts from friends, etc…I like to watch it delayed as well. If I can make it to Sunday night…9 pm’ish (I’m in Dayton…more Cincinnati’ish), it’s perfect. I can end my night watching a commercial free Hawks game…

Last year, it was 80/20 watching delayed vs live. Those numbers have flip-flopped this year though.

Today…I’m in a rough spot….sons football banquet is at a sports bar..5:30 pm est time.

Trying to avoid the live version at all costs today…can’t stand getting ‘updates’ or knowing the score before I watch it.

Might have to strangle a kid today…they know I’m a Hawks fan and I’m sure someone’s going to blurt out the score.

That's the other part why I prefer not to watch live. I can fast forward through all the commercials!

I was on Guam in 2005 during the season. We had some football at 5 am. I got to see the Hawks from 5am until 7am when I had to go to work on Monday morning. At least I got that much.

Absolutely zero chance I could sit idly by and do something else knowing a Seahawk game is taking place live if I had the choice.

I understand life happens though. Family, work, church or whatever the case may be that may cause you to miss it as it happens in real time. I also understand the emotional (and sometimes physical) impact it can have on your mental state in the following hours and even days if they lose. But that's the beauty of it. The bad times make us appreciate the good times that much more. I even hate going through the drive through and waiting to eat my food at home as it often times is cold by then. Gotta pull over and eat it while it's hot.

Live. 1000%.

You win s ome you lose some fighting stance

"Fan" may have originally derived from "fanatic", but the meaning has since changed to mean simply someone who is partial to, and enjoys following, a certain team, minus the unhealthy uncontrolled obsession bit.

Football season is so short.
The offseason is so long.

Waiting 1 min is too long for me.

I look forward to football Sunday's all week at work.
It's my time.

Win or lose it doesn't matter....Inject it into my veins.

Voted live, but not really. I keep live updates on, watching live is a PITA for me. Too many ad breaks and the commentary by tools that don't know the team is just awful, lol. I'll dip into gameday chat when I remember to. Play-by-play, breakdowns and highlights after the fact is my wheelhouse. Opens up an entire day for me to do other stuff as well.

Not watching the game live would be like missing thanksgiving dinner but eating it later warmed up in the microwave. But hey, you do you.

I quit being a fanboy and edged into casual perusal. Too many commercials selling garbage, announcers telling you what just happened like they are some sort of adderall seers, and my general nausea from anything corporate.

Bright side I’m glad we got Macdonald instead of Quinn. Defense is fun to watch again. Offense still needs a run game but improved. Zabel is the offensive monster NE3 is on D.

I respect everyone’s decisions. I had season tickets circa 2010. Have been to a bunch of games blah blah blah. It may have to do with getting older and prioritizing my time it could very well be Kendrick said turn the tv off and I listened

I hate all the Sundays I waste, watching football.

I’m still going to take a huge chunk out of my day to watch live.

Well it’s not like the 70s if you don’t watch the game live you miss it for good. I can still watch the game in its entirety either way.

Just not live.

I’m with you. I’m too nervous about this game. For my own sanity I’ll check the score at 7:30pm and watch the recording after, IF they don’t get destroyed

I work tonight, but I will have the game blasting on the radio in the shop. With any luck, no wrenches will be thrown tonight. Go Hawks !
