Got a hilarious text from my daughter today:

Can’t wait to not watch the game tomorrow

😂

She’s such a little mini me poor thing. We are both such neurotic messes on Gameday. I said it in another thread. I ain’t watching a lick of this game until it’s over. Self preservation, baby. What about you?

I get your logic and hey you do you. We only get one life to live on this great big rock and you can’t live it to somebody else’s standard. Personally I try to watch live as much as possible. I just enjoy the emotions it brings. There was a time when I let the games bother me for days on end but I can get over them at least to the point where it doesn’t affect the rest of my day with my family. There are times that the kids have dance, soccer or whatever that may interfere but I usually can catch it by mid game or shortly after and watch the DVR but I work hard to know nothing until I see it happen on the tv.

Live, live, live, live, live! There are lesser games at times where I'll do the pause thing if I need to do something and then FF through the commercials till I catch up. But even then, I don't want to know what's happening in real time when I'm behind it.

I like the drama of it, the emotional ups and downs, never quite knowing what will happen next. It's one of the things I love about sports. Outside of pro soccer games which can end in a tie and often do, sports are so definite. You win or you lose, and if you have a playoff system, only one team emerges victorious at the end. It's that definiteness that creates the drama behind it.

So AROS, while you're in your bunker tomorrow I'll be being an emotional yo-yo.

I have missed all but three games this year lol. I have the opportunity to watch to tomorrow and I am off Monday, so if it doesnt go our way I will have a nice Monday morning hangover! Regardless, this game will be a good one!

Tricky when you are overseas. The game here in Germany wont start until 2am. If i watch the whole thing live my Monday is basically shot, so what i do is wake up around 4am and watch on DAZN, starting from the beginning and then FF'ing commercial breaks, halftime and sometimes the period between plays. It usually works out that i can catch up to live play in about 45 minutes and catch the last half of the 4th qtr.

But there's no category for partially live / partially recorded, so i picked live.

Edit - I am an idiot. its a 4pm game so only 10pm here. Yes, i will be watching!!!

Always watch my Seahawks live!!!

Growing up I rarely got to see my Seahawks play because I live in the Eastern Time Zone (this was before satellite) and my local channels typically showed the Bengals or Steelers or Browns.
And since we were not on National TV very often I may have had the luxury of seeing my Seahawks play live once or twice a year.

So I only got the highlights each week which really, really sucked.

That all changed with the advent of satellite so for the past 25 years or so I watch all my games live!!!

Aros is right about all the emotions and typically I'm a nervous wreck while watching but I wouldn't give it up for anything!!

It's one of life's little pleasures, especially as I've gotten older. :)

As my son has his football banquet today at 5:30 (EST), I’m trying to avoid the live version at all costs.

Bad thing is…his banquet is at B-dubs…so I’ve literally got to keep my head down and not watch any games to avoid scores flashing.

I prefer live. In the past when I’ve had to miss, I have enjoyed watching commercial free games that have been recorded.

Today will be hard…real hard.

The only way I ever NOT watch the Seahawks' live is if I have some kind of work/family/church commitment. I try to avoid the score at all costs. I even hate getting updates. But as long as I am able, there is no way I ever not watch the Seahawks live.

Not sure if this was meant as a joke or not, but who wouldn’t watch it live if they could?
Not a joke seabowl! Aros prefers to watch the games after (per some of his other posts).

TBH…I do too. Lately, I’ve been watching everything live but, then I’ll watch the Sunday Night game and before you know it, the whole day is consumed by watching football.

That’s not a bad thing except…I got shit to do!!

IF I KNOW I can avoid score updates, texts from friends, etc…I like to watch it delayed as well. If I can make it to Sunday night…9 pm’ish (I’m in Dayton…more Cincinnati’ish), it’s perfect. I can end my night watching a commercial free Hawks game…

Last year, it was 80/20 watching delayed vs live. Those numbers have flip-flopped this year though.

Today…I’m in a rough spot….sons football banquet is at a sports bar..5:30 pm est time.

Trying to avoid the live version at all costs today…can’t stand getting ‘updates’ or knowing the score before I watch it.

Might have to strangle a kid today…they know I’m a Hawks fan and I’m sure someone’s going to blurt out the score.

Much respect to all differing opinions. It's not my place to tell others how to get the best out of their lives. I will be watching the game live as much as is possible. Family can, and does, get in the way. I watched the 2007-2011 Rams go 15-65. I watched the 28-0 loss on the return to Los Angeles in 2016. Today isn't going to be worse, even if we lose by 40. Today's losers will be 7-3 and on track for a playoff berth.

I watch every game live and even post in the Radish thread from time to time. But I also like to hit up opposing team threads to get their perspective periodically
