I voted Russ for the excitement he brought us early on. He was our brightest light... our hope... after losing SB XL to the Stealers and Bill Leavy. The Cinderella story was in full play... and it happened... a thorough whitewashing of the Denver Donkeys in SB 48... FINALLY, a Lombardi of our own!

Loved to watch Jim Zorn but his spark never really ignited the franchise. Dave Kreig definitely had his moments... but unfortunately, they went both ways too regularly. Hass was our first true borderline franchise QB but one year at/near the top of the league left us thirsting for someone better.

To finish up, Warren Moon should have chosen the Seahawks when he decided on Houston... and we ended up with a fading star in the twilight of his career... and Jon Kitna was Dave Kreig-light... just a placeholder waiting for someone better.

And lastly, Sam led us back to the promised land and has the foundation to get us back again... but Russ remains my favorite for now.

As kid playing pop warner football I
Was the 2nd string QB when there was QB designed runs the coach would insert me as the QB. Of course being a Seahawks fan from the beginning I used to think of myself as Jim Zorn. Wow come to think of it that was really long ago.🤙🏼💚💙

I bet if that happens this poll doesn't exist

I liked Russ before he became Russ the celebrity.

Wilson, was easy to root for, but for various reasons, began to isolate himself from teammates for various reasons. Wilson, went from a very likeable guy, to, why is he like this?

You gotta be personable if you are a QB and the team rides with you! If you lose that likeable factor among teammates, that’s it, it’s over, you are finished!

That’s why I said Darnold. My second would be Hasselbeck.

Had the Kreig jersey has a teenager. Warren Moon is an extremely underrated player on this list for the Seahawks because without him, that team would’ve been absolutely disastrous. Ultimately, I chose Russ because what he did for this team for a very long time cannot be forgotten nor replaced.

I was about to vote Russ because some of those heart attack touchdowns were crazy. He was a master of that but then I thought Sam won the Super Bowl in his first freaking year. Come on if that don’t do it I don’t know what will pretty amazing and I hope he just continues playing well. We are pretty damn lucky fan base to have had some really good quarterbacks consider considering all the other teams that have not.

Can’t vote Darnold after only one year. Too much can happen. He could get there one day though. Wilson is easily our winningest qb but as far as favorite, I would go with Hass.

Well, it's early yet. I have been waiting for a gun slinging quarterback like Sam. With his release and vision he has made the line and receivers maybe RBs look much more competent. It was quite the gamble to aquire him amongst the regime change. Can't wait for further growth and what that entails.
My thought also, we finally got a QB who can see, use the pocket and has a
quick release.
My previous favorite was Krieg who despite his small hands did very well after
having to watch Jimmy Zorn (yikes).

I wanted to add this to my post, I feel exactly the same, his first year when
we were picked to finish 4th!

Hasselback

Up until about 2017 I would have voted for Wilson, but as hs focus switched from making the Seahawks successful to his personnal success I went off him. I still think he was the best QB to play, and some fof his escape plays were great fun to watch but he is no longer my favorite because of what he became. Sam could eventually get the vote but I think it needs more than one season to take the crown off Hasselback.

I want to see that confident, baller swagger from Sam. I know that's probably unrealistic--it's just not in his "makeup". But I honestly hate feeling those "game on the line jitters" with Sam. It's probably unfair, considering he just won the Super Bowl and what he did in the playoffs. But that feeling in the back of my mind that he's going to make a mistake.........

Apologies OP, don't want this to turn into a Sam Darnold thread or anything.

Eh. Too bad that's how you feel 'cause I had no feeling like that (aside from one time) last season.

Even though he had those turnover issues during the regular season, only ONCE did I think that we had no shot at winning (because Sam was making mistakes) and that was the first matchup against the Rams (and the Hawks still almost pulled a win out of their ass).

I think of it like this : If Sam makes a mistake, he comes right back and makes up for it in a big way the following possession.

He never dwells on what happened before.

Selective amnesia is what they call it.

People seem to think "oh! Well he made a mistake! GAME OVER! 😭" or something but that's not how it works.

Every down isn't "sudden death OT" though many non-Seahawks fans (and some Hawks fans) seem to think so whenever Darnold makes a mistake. 🙄

So long as there's plenty of time on the Game Clock, there is plenty of time for Sam to bounce-back and help the team win.

I like Sam. The guy has been getting bashed endlessly since joining Seattle and then before that was labeled a bust and choke artist etc. and the guy just is mentally indestructible. Darnold has overcome a lot and is still a baller yet 99.9% of non Seahawks fans continue to say he is trash and Seattle is only lucky to win a Super Bowl etc etc. that is pure nonsense to me.

You know how I knew Darnold was a killer before he won a Super Bowl?

If you guys follow UW football, Darnold came in with USC, when UW, was riding high and ranked high and Darnold carved up UW on every clutch drive. That guy was lights out and ripped UW and back when UW was good. That’s how I knew Darnold had that “IT” factor!

Darnold, was just unlucky to be with bad organizations in the NFL until he learned from Shanahan and became what we see today. In Minnesota, Darnold shredded Seattle at Lumen (I was at that game) and it reminded me of Darnold vs UW. And now, Darnold is shredding other teams for the Seahawks.

Darnold is also loved by Marshawn.

Come on, man, Darnold’s story and history is absolutely the best!

I love Darnold!
Ginger Cuz, man.

Voted Kitna. Local dude, good not great but he was a dawg.
I remember Kitna leading the Seahawks to a couple of huge comeback wins over the Raiders. One was down 21 at halftime and threw a last second game winner to Darrell Jackson. I won a bet with a Raider fan buddy on that game, he had to wear a Seahawks coat & hat for a day. Very painful for him.
Kitna saved me from the silver & black Pirate hat.
