That was my inference, or I made it up, based on chronological events on day 2. I am quite sure that Pete and our guys talked shop on the plane. What else could they talk for an hour with Pete standing the whole time? But quite sure it was mostly Geno and not drafts.
Slow Cooker recipes?

I figured MM would be looking to secure a Kyle Hamilton Swiss army knife for his defense. There were only two that fit that mold in the draft, although they are in some ways different players, many positive traits intersect with these two.
When Malaki Starks went to the Ravens at #27, that spurred the Hawks to trade up to #35.

Starks.
High IQ, instincts. Deep coverage/ball skills, speed, explosiveness. Sound tackler.
Emmanwori.
Elite size, speed, traits. Reliable tackler, run defender, biltzer. LOS friendly.

I see Starks as a bigger ET.
Nick E as a faster, more athletic Kam.

Actually when they traded up I thought they were after another OLineman...
Just kidding. I knew that had a teardrops chance in Hell. lol

I just watched this, and I absolutely loved it. From touching the Seahawks helmet, to ironically wearing a blue and green hat (non-Seahawks) on the day he got drafted...I absolutely loved it and it's worth the time.

And we still never got the Milroe phone call vid...and we probably never will. lol

But yeah...had to have been very exciting for him and his family. :)

From my understanding, there isn't one, at least from the team's side. They couldn't reach him on the phone when they drafted him.
Too bad there is no vid on that.

Would've been hilarious to watch.

Oh well.

Yikes…

It sure vibes like this wasn’t on his places he’d like to be. Not just him, but also his family while he was receiving the call. Even the position coach picked up the tone.

Maybe it was leftover blues from nor being selected in the first.

As a fan it would have been satisfying to see some fire, but I know everyone processes things in different ways.

I don’t think there was a hint of worry in a casual comment about him not seeming excited. I just find it really satisfying to see the emotional reactions of young men realizing their dream. I actually look forward to the calls every year. I still remember the ones that really touched me like DK’s call. Nick’s was a downer. I know it has nothing to do with how he will perform on the field.

I love ya brother, but you seem to transform simple observations into a tidal wave of perceived negativity. Keep doing what your doing though, there’s room for all takes here!

Maybe it was a downer because he EXPECTED to be drafted in the 1st round and when he wasn't, his entire enthusiasm was muted from then on until he was drafted the next day on Day Two.

I mean you and I saw how happy he was and his family when he was drafted so....

Fair enough. Not everyone does cartwheels when they get drafted.

And you should know I was just messing with you. ✌️

Not only do I think he expected to be drafted in the first round, I think he actually expected to be a high first rounder. If you watch him during the first few picks on this video, it’s fairly clear from his body language, demeanor and facial expressions that he was waiting to hear his name called. And called very early. He could have been a late first rounder but from what I saw this guy clearly puts himself at or near the top of the draft.

Is all that enough to put a chip on his shoulders? The good news is we get to find out.

I noticed day one, that there were several hats on the coffee table, and none of them had the Seahawks logo on them, so I don't think he was expecting to be taken by them, and when the call came in on day two, he was likely feeling slightly dejected for not being taken in the first round and maybe a little perplexed by being taken by the Seattle Seahawks.
I mean being a Floridian and going to Southern Alaska is maybe a bit of a system shocker. lol

How about being drafted by ateam that just signed Darnold and then Lock knowing you had young guys that were competing here that also were getting paid.

Caps were stacked in rows. Pretty sure all 32 teams were there.
