This is literally one of the worst calls I've ever seen; I'm just thankful that it didn't impact the outcome of the game. Only the outcome of our power rankings.

I honestly think that if they're going to throw out a flag on a possible 50 yard reception/interference call, overturn a turnover, or in any way effect a scoring play they should review that penalty.

I'm not talking about small penalties. I'm not talking about 5-10 yard PI penalties. But when QBs just throw the ball up for grabs and hope for a flag, that's changing the game. Back yourself up with some video evidence.

100% agree! It's amazing that some of the biggest plays in a game are non-reviewable. The entire idea of i is ridiculous. Why can "Judgement" plays not be reviewable? The refs make judgements all the time on reviews --is there enough evidence to overturn, etc.

The only change they need to make is allow EVERYTHING to be reviewable. Coaches have a limited number of reviews, let them make those challenges whenever they want. If a coach wants to challenge a 5 yard penalty, let him do it, lose his review and a timeout in the process.

So I guess Mike isnt allowed to change his interpretation of the rulebook based on which teams he's officiating on a given Sunday. That's in contrast to what the announcers were telling us during those two PI calls per their conversation with Mike Carey prior to the game.

One of the NFL's biggest arguments against all these types of things is that they're trying to "speed" the games up, yeah right... what do they care, are people really going to tune out of Monday night football because the game lasts for 3 hours and 45 minutes? They just fit more commercials in anyway... If they want to speed the games up stop throwing so many rediculous flags...

They could speed it up by handling things like this during commercial breaks too.

Was it last weeks game, they did a tv timeout and commercial break. We come back to the game, and now they decide to start the drama of a challenge and ref review. wtf?

This is good news, because it means Mike Carey will likely be downgraded and won't be eligible to work the Super Bowl.

They need to review ALL PI calls from the booth, simple as that!! Too many of the refs are seeing things wrong. Game changers. Hell they review every other aspect of the game.

Sheet, we'd never get a call if that assclown was officiating. He was the NFL appologist/propagandist for the fix that was XL*.

And perhaps DPOY for Earl. That non-interception could ultimately be the difference.

That call massively changed the momentum of the game. I appreciate the NFL acknowledging that the refs were wrong, but that doesn't change the fact that it almost cost us the game. I'd imagine it also was a big emotional letdown for ET.

The good news is that at least the NFL allows you to prove it on the field rather than idiots voting on power rankings (as opposed to the BScs). We won the game so I guess no harm no foul.

How would it affect the speed of the game? I've been saying this for a while. Make it challengable. It doesn't provide more challenges or the length of time of the existing challenges it just provides an opportunity to get everything correct instead of leaving it up to potentially poor judgement, bias or even possible cheating.

The coach still only has two challenges and a bonus challenge if he get's the first two correct. Why not make potential game changing plays challengabable. There are only 16 games in a season, it's not like baseball. A single loss is close to ten times as important as a baseball game. It should be important that the correct call is made. It would also assist in silencing the "fix is in" crowd. Right now though a bad official has way to much power to not consider the possibility of fixes.

So, does anyone feel better about our 27-17 win over the Bucs?

You don't know how it would have affected the game. It is possible the game is still similar but momentum is a huge part of this game. Do the Buc's continue to play at the level they were if we turn that into a score? Or do they get deflated and give up? Does the crowd stay subdued through the first half or get energized?

One thing that bothers me is that we have been getting alot of these questionable or bad calls early in games lately and causing games to be closer early on than they maybe would have been and the end result is our team is playing uphill all game long instead of relaxing some and going into more of a running mode or a pass defense mode because of a lead. We are starting to look tired on the field add that to momentum stealing calls and the potential for collapse is there. This game is as much mental as it is physical and I am getting worried that we are getting worn down both physically and mentally due to the schedule and all the extra effort they seem to have to put in to even beat an 0-7 team in our own house. I have never been so impatient for a bye week. I think this team needs it both mentally and physically.

I'd absolutely make everything challengeable. I'd also not be surprised at all if basically every PI call over 30 yards then gets challenged...
