Pete is an elite coach and this proves it

Just look at how few coaches have over 200 games and a winning percentage over 58.

Pete is elite and annoying at the same time, just like Holmgren was. You take the good with the bad when it comes to coaches because none of them are perfect.

What is "Market Win Probability?"
I think it means "against the spread" which is a dumb stat to base anything on IMO. Good coaches don't care about point spreads, other than the one on the scoreboard.

It's not the point spread. It's the win probability as determined by the market, which in this case is bookmakers and the betting public.

Hm...Thanks for the info. So according to the bookmakers, Pete wins the games he should win and loses the games he should lose, correct? I guess I'm not sure how to interpret the chart.

The vertical axis is Pete's actual winning% of roughly 59%, and the horizontal axis is what the market predicted winning% at approximately 55%. So the interpretation is that Pete outperformed his market expectations by about 4%. Hope that helps.

Wow. I'm looking at that and noticing several of the upper tier coaches had basically a single QB for most of that.

Tomlin - roethlisberger
McCarthy - Rogers
Payton - Brees
Carroll - Wilson. Pete's total win-loss record prior to the seahawks is super close to .500 (33-31). Hopefully Geno can help him improve his "non Russ" record. :)
Belichick - losing record in Cleveland, and then had Tom Brady his entire career in NE until just the past three years, two of which were losing seasons.

Holmgren had Favre with the Packers, Hasslebeck with the Seahawks.

Mad respect for those on the list who won for an extended period with multiple QBs.

And then there is Andy Reid. Success with multiple QBs and teams.

What if Reid is the GOAT, or at least of this generation, and Belichick's greatness is attributable to having Brady for so long.

I will never consider either Belichick or Brady the "GOAT". They cheated. It was proven at least twice. If you're the GOAT, then why did you have to cheat? Maybe you're the GOAT BECAUSE you cheated.

The best way to interpret it is to leave your hate for Pete at the front door pal. We don’t tolerate it here

Opinions are allowed, ignorance is called out...

Agreed. Ignorance is believing an antiquated coach who hasent done anything in the post season in almost a decade is an elite coach who is suddenly going to turn things around.

Hm. Someone's a little sensitive here. Chill dude. It was an honest question asking if that was the correct way to interpret the chart. I'm a big PC fan. IMHO this is the greatest era in Seahawk history and he's the one primarily responsible for it.

Upper right quadrant buddy. Look at the names of the coaches in the upper right quadrant of the chart. I guess you must hate making the playoffs all the time and winning football games because Pete does that often including a Lombardi. He made the playoffs with Geno Smith and a bunch of rookies. Ignorance is bliss if you don’t know what you’re talking about tho I agree200

I appreciate all of the hard work you continue to put in to prove my point. Every time you put fingers to the keyboard, the ignorance just pours out...
Do love ya tho...

Lol. When the team cant get past the first or second round of the post season, whats the point? The team made the playoffs last season due to a decimated Rams and Cardinals season, but did anybody truly feel they had a snowballs chance of doing anything once they got there? Sadly some of you probably did. Yes Pete built a Super Bowl team once early on, but he squandered it even quicker. I have no aspirations he could ever do it again.
