Percy's attitude is not my concern. Him wanting to get out there and stick it to his former team, that's just being a football player. When he was out there he stalked the sidelines begging to be put in, and when he was in, he blocked his pants off. I don't trust him necessarily to keep emotion out of if when making a health decision, but now that Pete is wise to this, hopefully we'll protect him from himself in that way.

My only concern with Percy is health. Too bad that concern is looming so large at the moment :(

If we get him back for the playoffs, I'll be pumped. I'm not counting on it tho. The thing that gives me hope is the fact that John and Pete are willing to keep him on the roster rather than IR him. We're 4 weeks away from our first playoff game assuming we have HFA. That's still lots of time for Harvin to get right. Even with limited reps, I think he can have a big impact on the game. I'm still cautiously optimistic we'll see Harvin again this season

Carroll said today it was "going to be a bit" before Harvin makes it back. Kind of sounds like we'll be lucky to see him again this season at this point.

That's a pretty good translation. If Pete says it's "going to be a bit", he's talking months, not a week or two.

But we'll see. Honestly, though, if we get HFA, we get to the SB, and now with Denver looking pretty toothless, I'm comfortable going into the playoffs without Harvin. I don't think we're going to need him.

There is a definite correlation between Harvin's attitude and Harvin's health.

Charley Casserly once said "Randy Moss was the worst thing that could have happened to Percy Harvin". He also said it was widely believed Moss turned Harvin against Childress, going so far as to ask for Harvin's help in getting Childress fired.

Casserly went on to report that in front of the team at practice, Moss took his pads off early. Harvin asked Moss if practice was over and Moss said "it is for me, I practice when I want to practice and I play when I want to play". Soon after, the mysterious, undetectable migraines helped Harvin to miss 40% of Viking camps and practices from 2010 until Minnesota was able to once again butt-rape our Seahawks. Think about it:

Q: Why would Minnesota, a team headed to the play offs, put "MVP candidate" Harvin on IR, in week 10...for a minor thing like a sprained ankle? Why did the team decide to play 6 more weeks, and the playoffs, without "the most dangerous man in football"?

A: Because they already had us grabbing our ankles. Pete coveted Harvin since high school but still, another sideline meltdown from Harvin might have chased us away, so ridding themselves of Percy Harvin became more important to the Vikes than a shot at the frikin' Superbowl.

Interesting theory. I am not sure if I buy it or not, but Harvin has done absolutely nothing to dispel rumors like this one. He needs to get on the field and do something.

See that is the thing. Harvin has done nothing to squash this type of thinking. Whether you want to call it Santa, Easter bunny et. al. or not Throw, this could be fact because we've seen nothing suggesting otherwise. And why would Casserly lie about such a thing? I mean if someone has as good a theory or some known facts about that aspect of this I'm all ears. I badly don't want to believe these things could be true. I badly want Harvin tearing it up for the Seattle Seahawks. Sadly, my gut tells me dude got paid and that's what mostly mattered to him. I sincerely hope I'm wrong.

I have a feeling he won't play another down this season.

Will he be able to go full speed next season after the extra time to get well? I think the only way he knows how to play is 1,000 miles per hair with his hair on fire so will never be able to just play a little bit.

That's one of those questions you hate to ask because you're afraid you won't like the answer.

I'm not seeing a comparison to Moss at all when it comes to his efforts when he's out on the field. Limited sample size, but the guy seems desperate to be out there and when he is out there he's going a million miles an hour whether it's kickoffs, blocking, or catching the football.

I guess his desire to practice is yet to be evaluated since he's had a legit injury this year and the coaches themselves are being cautious. But even if he is an Allen Iverson or Gary Payton type guy who doesn't love practice but who gives himself up during the games, that's a far, far cry from a Randy Moss who would take plays off and not put his all into blocking.

I take it, 'sinceday1, you've not purchased a #11 jersey? LOL. I say this because I continue to be astonished how intelligent posters like TD, continue to dismiss facts about Harvin. I assume they've bought the jersey, and by clicking their heels together 3 times, while wearing the magic Harvin jersey, his whole past will magically vanish.

Like Zappa said, "Common sense is none too common".

The good news? This magic thing called GOOGLE. Why are so many posters so quick to dispel the FACTS about Harvin when it's all out there and documented? We have posters creating their own facts like "Harvin wants to play worse than anybody". "Harvin is NOT SOFT!" "Pete is the one holding him back"."Harvin is a team player". I know who Harvin is and I've reported as much. Before ridiculing what I've posted, why not be smart and research the topic a bit?

I continue to post stuff about Harvin because I am sick of the unwarranted love this fan base has for him. Harvin puts on a Hawk jersey and he's instantly St. Percy. I'll say it again : Harvin is everything wrong with pro sports today. Few players have caused more turmoil for his teams and coaches than Percy Harvin. He's "Mini-Moss". He has a reputation for faking injuries when he doesn't get his own way. He fails piss tests, Threatens to hold out every year, fights with every coach he's had, yet gets a mega contract for his efforts.

I look forward, Throw, to hearing your explanation on why the Vikes put Harvin on IR in week 10 during a play off run for a sprained ankle that required no more than 2-3 weeks to heal.

It probably had nothing to do with his blow up with Frazier on national TV (perhaps compromising his trade value) right? Let me guess...they were being extra cautious and saving him for the following year's superbowl run.

Which one of the above scenarios is more likely?

You Percy haters are gonna eat crow big time!

He will electrify the Clink! This year if needed, which I doubt but very early on in 2014 the PH mind games will be a Factor on and off the field for the opposition.

I sincerely hope you're right. Sooner or later, giving up these high round picks are likely to catch up with us.

I think my biggest problem is that I care more for this franchise than I do any single player. Makes me something of an oddball in these parts. I'm OK with that.

Easily amused I take it. Since you've chosen to get involved, perhaps you'd like to answer this question I posed to Throw.

How come Greg Oden never got all this hate for his knee injuries? He took FOREVER to "Recover" while getting paid for doing nothing. How many games has he played for the Heat this year? Guy is a scrub and always will be... but gets the "woe-is-me" treatment from the media.

Who the hell cares? What does this have to do with 2013 where he's no longer a Viking?

I think it's pretty safe to assume Percy wanted out of Minnesota. He didn't like Frazier. He hated Ponder. The Vikings realized this and determined shutting him down for the year was better for the team.

But.. the only thing that relates to this is why Percy is a Seahawk to begin with. If he was happy they weren't trading him. Aside from that, the two things are entirely different scenarios.

None of us have seen medical reports, talked to the doctors, talked to Percy Harvin, been at the VMAC to see how the rehab is going, talked to the coaches, we haven't been in the locker room so in actual fact we don't know chit.

What we do know is the team has still not put him on IR which means there is still hope

Having such strong opinions on this subject with such little access to the facts is mind boggling.

If they know he won't play this year then why not just IR him? They must have hope he will return or he would be on IR by now.
