Only 4 teams capable of winning SB?

I've seen a couple "experts" say this in recent days and the oddsmakers seem to agree: This season's SB champ will be either Detroit, Philly, Buffalo, or KC. That's kind of a bummer if nobody else has a realistic chance. Don't get me wrong: I'd like to see Buffalo or Detroit get one. I'd just like to see more teams in the mix. Naturally, we'll have another KC vs Philly SB to look forward to. 🤮

Best records in the game right now. Hardly an outlandish prediction. 🤷‍♂️

Nobody really thought the wildcard vagiants would beat the then-undefeated patriots, so that's another perspective... I don't know what the Vegas odds were, but I imagine a $100 wager would have won a fortune!

They are most likely correct in that one of those 4 teams will win the SB. Everybody can hang onto hope, but it's very, very rare for a Wildcard or lesser team upsets the apple cart. Not impossible, but improbable.

2010 no one gave the Hawks a chance yet they were a Chicago snow game away from hosting the NFCCG and in those days the home crowd could’ve been the difference in sending a 7-9 team to the SB…

Any given gameday. ANY of those four teams can be upset in the playoffs.
True, but will NONE of them be the SB champs? I say that is extremely unlikely. This will be a fun thread to revisit in February.

One Injury can derail a team, easy Pickins to guess on the front runners at this point, playoffs start and a different mindset sets in also.

Someone believing those teams are the favorites is not the same as them saying nobody else is "capable". Like if you had to bet all your money on those four teams or the field to win the Super Bowl, I'm guessing the vast majority are choosing those four teams.

To me, the Ravens are absolutely in that group of favorites too, and I could see the Packers maybe making a run as well. Can't say I have a lot confidence in anyone after that, but there are a few that are maybe close. The Broncos, Seahawks, and Commanders are all in the "maybe if they get hot, but probably not quite there yet" category for me. I should probably have more faith in the Vikings than I do. I thought the Rams were getting healthy at the right time and turning a corner, and maybe if they get in I won't completely dismiss their chances, but they have not looked impressive the past four weeks. The Bucs appear to have the ability to beat, or lose to, anyone.

Gun to my head, I'm thinking Bills-Eagles for the Super Bowl. Hopefully the latter changes because I hate the Eagles, but they look damn good and the NFC as a whole doesn't look spectacular to me. I don't trust the Lions still.

Bills Eagles is my prediction too. Chiefs Eagles is a close 2nd. If it can't be us, I only want the Lions representing the NFC, but like you I don't trust them. I think the Lions will sh* t the bed and let Philly get the 1 seed. I'm still pissed at the Giants for allowing Saquon to Philly to become a reality. I can't imagine how Giants fans must feel watching him have the year he's having for a division rival.

KC will probably win it again but there’s a few more teams that could win it. Ravens can stick around in any game, Steelers don’t look great but you never know in the playoffs. The Giants weren’t the best when they won the SB, the Rams were not much better than good when they won it

A good team, not just a great one, can end up winning a SB

It looks bad with Saquon going off this year, but I think the Giants did the right thing letting him go. They were paying WAY over market value nearly every year for what was mostly underwhelming production. It would have been hard to justify paying him for yet another season after an awful 2023 where he averaged less than 4 yards per carry and less than 1000 yards. He only hit 100 yards rushing once in 14 games, and that was in a 13-10 loss to the Zach Wilson Jets where he got 36 carries. Over the final six games of the season, he had just 239 yards on 94 carries (2.5ypc).

After six seasons, the talk on him was still what he could be rather than what he actually was.

Or Buffalo. Those fans went through 4 straight SB losses after all.

Yep those are my top two I vote for every year once the Seahawks are out of it. Either Lions or Bills. Both fanbases deserve to see their team finally win it all.

Thats a lazy list.

KC is riding a razors edge. It wont last.

Detroit CAN do it, but have gotten fat off of huge points diff wins against weak teams and have been smacked in the mouth against us, the Rams, the Cards, THE BEARS, and Minnesota. They also caught GB at a good time.

The Bills are solid, IMO

Philly is also solid, but if they have to rely on Hurtts, i dont buy them.

Alternates that have the tools to make noise - GB, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Minnesota

Yeah, the Eagles just beat the Ravens, but baltimore played a bad game.

Minnesota did lose to Detroit, but i look forward to seeing them play again.
