...........Looking at the scheduling the last couple years you could make a pretty good argument the NFL is trying to give the Niners an assist with 5 early games vs 2 last year and now this year padding their schedule to get them through the bumps of new players and players missing time. Not to mention having us play them in Santa Clara on another Thursday night game.....
And keep in mind this is our third year in a row having to go ON THE ROAD for our Thursday night game, a definite disadvantage for the Hawks. Also remember the NFL decided to not give us any prime time home games outside of the opener which they basically had no choice in.

Yeah, they are doing everything in their power to make it as difficult on the Hawks as possible via scheduling. Makes the most recent championship all the sweeter and will make the next one just as sweet.

Oh, and one more comment about the NFL's very obvious scheduling attempts to put the hurt on Seattle.............screw you Rog!!

Good points but...... Scheduling isn't going to matter just like it didn't much last year (see 5 Eastcoast early games) the Hawks are an unstoppable force! But yeah, Rog and his henchman can kiss the Hawks, uh hem, Super Bowl ring!

The scheduling becomes less and less of an issue as this team grows. Every year under Carroll the Hawks have improved in those situations deemed tough by the road. First year awful, second year they started competing, third year they lost some close ones but won their last 3 road games including early start games and last year they flat out handled their road games, winning a couple tight ones.

Even against SF on the road the game has been better each year with the Hawks having a late lead in SF until losing by 2 points in a game that was actually going well. The Hawks are just so young and they will carry that fight with them. They get tough wins against tough teams and dominate the ones that aren't so good. Laying waste to Atlanta, NYG (Whom they have handled twice on the road in their last 2 visits) and taking it to AZ on the short week.

The Hawks are simply better than most teams and even when they aren't playing a great game they still get the job done. As they become more consistent on offense they will continue to perform at a winning level regardless of opponent. Yes, the NFL and TV took the Clink out of prime time for obvious reasons, but the Hawks love nationally televised games and seem to step it up even more in those events. You can hear in the commentary, they just can't believe what they see sometimes.

I really like how the league has scheduled the games to eliminate appearences by the 12th man, when was the last time the Super Bowl Champs were given such light exposure. If it was the Cowboys they would be on 6 or more times, most at home to show off Jerrys house.

Maybe some Flex scheduling will happen, although maybe we will have less distractions with fewer games being on National TV at home.

49ers should get some good publicity with their new home, focus will be down there creating some added problems since there will be a whole bunch of adjustments to new gigs.

Being Champs and kept under the radar and people betting we can't get even a winning record in may places this coming year I hope is a motivation.

Doing what you described is absolutely the WORST thing that Rog and his henchmen could have done to the rest of the NFL, and BEST thing they could have done for Seattle. Keep giving the Hawks players more ammo for the huge chips on their shoulders is a HUGE mistake. Seattle will have prime time games in the playoffs and Super Bowl. What might actually scare me is if the NFL started embracing Seattle, thus possibly losing their "edge".

I don't think we played there on Thursday night last year but I am going by memory. They did make a game changing call though that prevented us from winning that game and it is not even debatable. Even on the Niners game day forum when it happened several acknowledged that call as a bad call and it cost us a turn over on a drive that they scored a field goal in a game they eventually won by 2 points. They won't admit it now because they know the ramifications of the call but at the time when it happened it was obvious even to Niner fans.

I do believe they are trying to increase our difficulty but not because they hate us but because they see a potential power house that could possibly run the table, including sweeping the Niners and that would ultimately cost the NFL big bucks. The Niner Seattle rivalry right now is the hottest in football and the most profitable due to ease of marketing. If Seattle leaves the Niners in the dust that rivalry goes away and that would again cost the NFL big money.

If you read the different super bowl threads from other forums you see a lot of complaining that it was one of the worst super bowls and boring because it was obvious their was no competition. Imagine if any team did that week in and week out all the way through the season. People would stop watching. It's in the NFL's best interest to try and keep the teams as close as possible or at least give the image that they are so people stay tuned in. Seattle right now is that team and as long as the NFL wants parody they will continue to increase the difficulty in any way they can to save face. If you understand this and believe it then is also makes our accomplishments that much more impressive.

Not hypocrisy, just good behavior. Afterall this board is for all the Seattle Fans. There is some good info on these boards and I learn a lot by just reading a lot of knowledgeable Seattle fans posting about their teams. Loafo is a good role model, he is well behaved on the 49er boards. Nobody there has really ever had a problem with him from my personal point of knowledge. Now every board is different, and you just have to take each board as they are. Nothing much you can do about that.

This assclown continues to show his true colours:

They will get their comeuppance. Just as they eventually found out about what Cheat was doing at USC, seadderall players can only do so much PED's before their bodies burn out from overuse of the drugs!

I don't think the Niners will experience a free fall, but they could experience a little regression early in the season. The spots on defense where players with less experience and zero Niner experience will be getting it during that early part of the season.

However many games Smith misses will be amplified by Bowman being out. This is the strength of the Niners D and it has provided protection to the secondary the last few years. With the secondary being what it looks to be those losses up front will show some impact. I have seen Niner comments from their fans that state the replacements are not that much of a dropoff. For Bowman and Smith? I see a big dropoff for what those two are capable of. I do believe that any defensive regression will create a situation where the offense tries to compensate by scoring more points. We can be assured that the QB has the load on his shoulders there.

It might not amount to much, but in this division every game counts. You only need to look at the last 2 seasons, the division over the that period is separated by a total of 1.5 games. It does matter.

Completely agree.

That's one reason I'm happy that the bulk of the divisional games they play will be late in the season.

That front 7 has protected that secondary for a long time and was a big reason why that secondary got exposed late in 2012 when both Aldon and Justin Smith were hurt.

I think Niners fans view of the new secondary has to do with the fact that they didn't think Brown, Rogers, or Whitner were al that good to begin with.

I wouldn't go that far. Rogers was good in 2011, but hasn't been the same player since. Brown is probably the best of the bunch and the one I didn't want to lose. Whitner was a very good box safety, but he was never a good player in coverage.

As for the replacements, Brock was very good last year filling in for Rogers and Brown when they were hurt. He probably made on of his best plays of the season breaking up the pass that became the Navorro pick 6 against Atlanta. Culliver was the best CB on the team in 2012, but who know how good he is with pressing legal issues and a recovery from a torn ACL. I like Bethea, but he hasn't been as good as Whitner the past few years. Is that because he hasn't had that front 7 in front of him in Indy? Remains to be seen.

I'm not convinced the 49ers will regress early. I think it's fair to say though that we just don't know what the hell we are going to see early. Very possible they will have to lean on the offense early on much more than they have in the past.

I agree with you about the LBs. LB for the 49ers is like DBs in Seattle....and they will be missing half of them early in the year. Thing is though that they lost Aldon early last year AND Willis for a portion of that stretch and found ways to win anyway. IE, they've done it before.

Heh. That was posted on a board full of 49er fanatics. Here, I would never post that. This board is full of 'Hawk fans. I don't think it's appropriate to post those types of statements here.

What i will say and what i will post is that your team is still very talented. Wilson is a legit QB and so long as you keep him healthy, he will always keep you in any game you play this year. I think your front office did a masterful job of drafting. Trading down that first pick was the right thing to do.

To repeat, you need a very strong defense, and while your defense is still strong, it has a bit less depth than it had before. So this season is going to be a very interesting season for both fanbases. Iron sharpens iron and whoever wins between the two teams has a good chance in the playoffs.

LOL, why do they want or need one, they have tried a few times and the cost and traffic isn't worth it, Aros established this board many years ago and we have seen many come and go yet we have remained due to the excellent maintenance and leadership here.

Starting an official board takes time to gain a level of traffic and type of representation you want to be part of the official site as well, which means heavy moderation to keep troll traffic out lest you end up with a bunch posters spewing insults and unsupported information.

If they wanted to start another version I would have thought it would be set up by now to take advantage of last seasons success.

I would much rather have our road games be the ones in primetime anyway. Wilson is batting almost a thousand in primetime games, and it may in some cases eliminate 10am starts.

One play in that niner game and the Seahawks would have been watching the Super Bowl with a bowl at home.

Yet it's still approximately 30% as arrogant as all the Broncos fans predictions in the two weeks leading up to the Super Bowl.

Whose fans were right? I know you need to tell yourself that when Seahawks fans were predicting a win, it was just the same braggadocio Broncos fans were predicting...But just maybe, maybe not.
