Mariners are rumored to a lot of interesting free agents, like Alex Bregman, also I saw they were rumored to be talking with Carlos Santana, that pisses me off cause if they’re looking at him now, why did they let him go in the first place, he would have been a perfect dh and player coach. I can’t wait to see what they do.

Why is that? Rojas had an awful year at the plate for a starting 3rd baseman. Hags they barely even played even when he was healthy.
Rojas had a good run early, for awhile he was one of our best hitters and I would have liked to see him develop. I always felt like Hagerty was exciting to watch. That catch when he jumped into the net was awesome, I felt like if he coulda got some time he was gonna be pretty good. But I guess they are both just mediocre bench guys, I just start to like our young guys.
I’d take both of them over polanco and garver

Zero expectations, but I'll always get excited about baseball. It's baseball. Not sorry

I just don't think this team will ever be close to a contender until the sell. That hasn't changed in several years.

Agreed. This organization will never sniff a pennant until Stanton dies and his ownership group is dissolved and forced to sell—because John Frigging Stanton will clearly never sell his business (not a team-a business venture with one of the most profitable organizations the last few years). Nor will he ever invest the way it takes in free agency to augment the roster to make it a title contender.

What I fear though is that if Stanton dies the ownership group will just name another chairman from the same group with the same ideology and their system continues. You would have to get a Seattle Steve Cohen type and I don’t know if there are any, to come in, make an offer they couldn’t refuse and spend.

Stanton at the end of the season: “We’re a draft, develop and trade organization…we’ve built the team the right way.” There you go. That’s all you need to know.

And for crying out loud, pay a little to adjust the batter’s eye, move the fences in again and eventually make the stadium capable of being fully enclosed in April and May. If you want to attract FA hitters, make it more a hitters’ park.

I’ve followed and supported this damn team for over 40 years but I’ve refused to spend a dime the last several. If they don’t spend, I don’t spend. I follow every box score and listen on radio sometimes but that’s it. And screw their Root Sports.

So folks, please don’t get sucked into rumors they’re interested in signing marquee FAs because it’s not going to happen. Signing Robbie Ray and Mitch Garver as their only “big FAs” over 10 years does not indicate they’re suddenly changing course.

Simply, they’re profitable and casual Seattleites fans will come out in droves in the summer, buy jerseys, merch and the team is just competitive enough to continue to rake in the profits. Remember, ownership groups don’t suddenly change their strategy.

Edgar's role is director hitting coach. Don't know if he'll be in the dugout. Probably not. They brought in 2 guys from Atlanta who were hitting coaches when the Braves won the World Series few years back. Hmmmm ok nice now please tell me there's more than $16M to spend.

Kevin Seitzer was hired as hitting coach after serving in that role for Atlanta from 2015 to 2024. Bobby Magallanes was hired as assistant hitting coach, a role he held with the Braves under Seitzer for the prior four seasons.

Draft develop and trade…. Like a farm system for the rest of the league? And no to the free agent side of things cause no one would sign here? I’m shocked we got Luis Castillo to sign here

Mets sign Soto. Yanks and Dodgers bidding over Teo. M's reportedly willing to trade Castillo.
On other Ms forums people are saying no to Bohm and Bregman. I don't get it. I say trade for/sign both those dudes. I wonder if Edgar gets the final say on anything.
