I called it. The hate is extremely strong between these two.

Looks like a great call. Of course, the fact that they spent the entire offseason sniping each others players ought to have clued us all in. Anytime the Seahawks have a player they really want, it's a sure bet the niners will be there to try to screw it up.

If he doesn't stay with us then I would expect the Falcons to sign him. They are a few pieces away from being relevant again and a pass rush is a must have for them. They are $18m under the cap per the over the cap site.......

I think the 49ers will go after _________ just to piss the Seahawks off! Stinky Niners!

We'll see, the '9ers cap is a tighter fit than ours and they will need to pay keep some big coin very soon making a fit for Bennett unlikely.

I'd be more worried about the Raiders and the Jaguars.

Likely true, but they aren't as tight as you think.

Carlos Rogers likely will be released and that'll save at least 4 million. That leaves them with 14 left and the ext for Kap likely won't get budgeted till next year.
The biggest reason I don't think they go after Bennett is that they'd be playing him out of position. He's not a 3-4 DE.

yeah but you need like 5 million for draft picks, + it sounds like they are trying to sign terell brown to an extension that will cut into that as well. It would be foolish for them not to try to lock up a player now with the remaining instead trying to reup 4 key players all in the same offseason.

I think they're more inclined to go for one of our receivers or DBs tbh. They've got quite a bit of money tied up in their front seven already, don't they?
Actually, I do see that happening too. Since Baldwin is a restricted free agent, I can see the 49ers offering a contract to him so Seattle has to match it.
He doesn't have to accept, and if he does I will be thrilled to get a 2nd round pick for him.

Maybe someone else mentioned this but there is no way DB is even going to entertain an offer by San Francisco. He hates Harbaugh as much as Sherman does. It's one of the great fuels to the rivalry. That is one team that you won't have to worry about getting DB.

Niners currently have $10m in free cap room.

Good luck with this plan, San Francisco.

I agree more with the article about maybe trying to leverage us to over spend and reduce other signings more then anything else.

I also think Pete and John are way smarter then to be baited that way. They treat the players with respect and players reciprocate that.

Why? He's a horrible fit for a 3-4.. And why use ALL your capspace on a position of strength? They need to focus on their secondary/wide receivers/and extending their core.

Yep. This is just Florio trolling and other outlets repeating it because the story is fun. Not a chance in heck there's any validity to this, IMO.
