Obligatory post game OL evaluation thread - Colts

Missed watching the game, how did the OL do? Wilson said during post game interview that two of the sacks were his fault? So the OL did ok?

Overall they looked a lot better, they're really starting to gel IMO.

guards are playing better now.

Tackles still have issues.

Odhiambo had issues with Jabaal Sheard. Other than that, the Colts really don't have much of a pass rushing defensive line, so the o-line did okay. Probably their easiest test all year. It's going to get a lot tougher in the next three games: at Rams, at Giants, and vs Texans.

Next 3 games will tell more. Rams, Giants, Texans. That Stretch is Death Row for DL talent

How was run blocking?

They looked great, but the Colts D line isn't anything to brag about. Next week against the Rams will be a good measuring stick type game.

They were opening up nice running lanes and really moving guys around, more so in the 2nd half

Better in both the 1st and 2nd half. An offensive line will always look stronger and get more push in the 2nd half as the defense tires through the game. I was really happy to see them handling stunts on multiple occasions and actually BEATING stunts on a few of the bigger run plays! That is a big difference from the GB game where just about every single stunt they ran got at least 1 or two guys behind the line and chasing Russell.

Colts are a blitz heavy team. They get burned a lot because of it. Seahawks like "explosive" plays and they work well on a blitz heavy team like the Colts. Rams are not as blitz heavy as the Colts. So it will be interesting. Good challenge coming up for the offense.

Someone on twitter disagreed with me but the tackles seem to get abused regularly.

Odhiambo was terrible again - I feel really bad he got injured, but he just shouldn't be in the starting lineup. Ifedi could get called for a false start on every play - but thought he did okay.

One holding penalty off the top of my head, and one false start iirc.

He would be better served at guard imo. His footwork is just way too slow to be a tackle, but his power in run blocking is incredible. Just my two cents

Well said and a very important point. This means the line is communicating better.

The line blocked 100 yards before contact for our RBs and they picked up the rest themselves. Colts have had a great run defense so far, which means we can say they bested good competition in that respect.

Rams DL has been strangely out of whack the first few games, but then again, what better line to "get right" against than ours? You can say the same of the Giants, especially their pass rush. It's been pretty weak this year. Same caveat applies though . Texans truly scare me. Might be our solitary (hopefully) home loss of the season.

sounded like Ifedi's issues are mostly mental, dude did have the physical talent. may be time will help?
