DON'T rush Percy back !!!

So, he's starting to practice this week.
GREAT !!
~ Bring him back in SLOWLY...
~ Let him get comfortable.
~ Let him develop a "timing" with Russ.

He is gonna be such an added weapon to this team, stretch drive to HFA,
DON'T bring him in, only to get injured again - weeks later, because he wasn't fully healed.

November 10th - vs the Vikings....then two weeks off to rest any soreness ???

Any thoughts.......???? :th2thumbs:

I want to see Harvin next week even if it's for a few snaps. He's pretty clearly ahead of schedule, so I'm not worried about injury. The dude's raking in the money; he needs to be out on the field.

I'm with the OP. We are playing great right now and to rush out Harvin too early doesn't make sense. If one of our starting WR's were injured I could maybe see it, but Rice, Tate, Baldwin, and Kearse are doing pretty good (not great, but good enough) right now. Wait until after the bye!

EDIT: And I have had Harvin on my fantasy roster since our draft, and I STILL want to wait on him!

I can't imagine they will rush him back before he is ready. It sounds like he will be ready sooner than later though.

People are constantly evaluating, and I mean people smarter than us, Percy's health. Bring him back when it's time. That's it. I don't care when that is, just make sure it's ready.

Maybe he was ready to practice two weeks ago? We don't know. Just trust that whatever and whenever it is, it's right. If he plays next week, let's not all freak that it's too early. WE DON'T KNOW THAT!

Well, considering that is how they've handled several guys coming back from injury so far, I think you'll probably get yuour wish.

I'm actually most looking forward to seeing him return kicks. He averaged an insane 35+ yards per return last year. I think that's where he would provide the most immediate upgrade. Maybe we have him be a kickoff specialist until he's had a chance to get comfortable in this offense.

How do you keep a guy out of the lineup who has fought hard to recover from injury and gets a green light from docs and wants to play?

People freaked out about him choosing surgery..... I imagine they will freak out when he plays.

This coaching staff doesn't have a propensity to rush guys back. They are very careful with injuries.

If Harvin is playing, I have full confidence he's playing healthy.

I agree here Seeker, my reasoning for the Vikes game is basically the same.
(IF He Is Ready), bring him in part-time, a few plays, for the Vikings....let him rest any soreness during the bye....
then, let him loose vs the Saints !! :th2thumbs:

We did well with our current WR corps against a solid Arizona backfield. We can afford to wait on Harvin.

I don't think this team NEEDS him, period.

Whenever he is ready he will help us win.

Until then we will keep winning without him.

Having followed Percy's career very closely over the years, that is one antsy, high-energy dude. Good luck keeping him off the field once he is cleared. After every play, Pete is going to feel a finger poking his back while saying "can I play, can I play, can I play, can I play....."

I really don't understand the point of this thread. PC has nothing in his history of rushing a player back from injury. Not even the slightest hint of such a thing. So the need to "tell" the coach not to do something his has a history of not doing is puzzling to me. If anything he can be criticized for being too cautious.
