Because of the quirk of how the NFL doesn't time kickoffs until they are touched, and the clock stops the second points are scored, officially, the Seahawks scored a FG and a TD simultaneously, according to time keeping. Has anything like this ever happened before?

It was a thing of beauty and from that moment on the game was over, might even change kicking. Long onside kicks

Interesting fun fact inquiry.

I still haven't quite figured out all the potential strategies of the new kick-off rules. There's something in me that thinks certain teams are going to figure out how to maximize the potential advantages of it before other teams, both from the kickoff and receiving standpoints. We already saw today how a team/players didn't quite know what the best/right thing to do was at the time. I think there's more to be exploited from it than is realized yet. Just MO.

I think I heard announcer saying it’s been 45 years.

Not absolutely sure it was in reference to your observation, but I think it was.
