The problem is, he was not always terrible.
So you have a guy that was one of the better up and coming corners in the league, one that had one of the best quarterback ratings against of ANY corner, and he suddenly falls into the toilet.
You have 2 options:
1 - Fix it and get your corner back.
2 - Dump him and see if you have anything else in the cupboard.
We have nothing in the cupboard. The other option is to try to fix it.
To fix a problem you need to admit it is there, identify the cause and remedy the cause. So the question is why?
Usually problems manifest as a reaction to change.
What changed?
Well we know the scheme changed. Some of the background guys. The pressure our DL puts on people changed.
Simon may or may not be hurt, that might be a change.
